  1. Thanks for the great information....do you need to apply a primer to plastic lures?
  2. Thanks and that is a nice website, just checked it out......
  3. Great looking lures, I have seen a lot of custom lures in the fishing shops here and some of them cost a mint......
  4. Also on a metal type of lure body would you need to use a primer first of some sort before painting with a water base paint? Thanks...
  5. I would like to find out some good websites for supplies for lure making. Things I am looking for are paints, eyes, pre-fab bodies, etc. I just got a copy of the catalog from Jann's netcraft and it is great....already found some things I want to buy but would like to find some other sites also. The lures that I want to work on and possibly make are vibration type lures (rattle trap type lures) I mainly fish these types of baits here in Japan for Japanese Sea Bass (member of the striper family). I have some that need to be re-worked because of chipping and major loss of paint do to use and abuse among the rocks..Thanks for any assistance that you all can give me on this. Hope all have a Merry Christmas.....
  6. What would be the best to use on a water based paint? spray on or dip type sealer. Something like Polyurethane, epoxy or something a long these lines?
  7. what would be the best sealer on a water based paint? spray or dip? thanks.....
  8. Thanks for the information on this.....
  9. For my chirstmas gift my wife will be buying me a airbrush set and I would like to know what is the easier paint to use for a beginner sprayer? water based, acrlic, etc. I would guess that most companys produce similar products like createx, comart, or house of kolor to name a few that I have looked at. Thanks for any assistance you can give me with this.
  10. I would like to start repairing some of my older lures by painting them and I have the chance to get a iwata revolution CR and sprint jet studio series compressor (1/8 hp and 1 to 30 psi) for about 210.00 and wanted to find out if that is a good set up to start out with? By reading some of the other posts on this site I see that a lot of people like a gravity-feed gun and this one has a 1/3 oz cup and it also has the 0.5mm nozzle and needle and is a dual-action trigger. Again this will be the first time that I have tried to paint by airbrush. Would you need for the compressor to be more than 30 psi's for painting lures? I am sure once I get it I will be posting a lot of questions on this site and I see a lot of expertise here. Things like what kind of paint is best to use (water base vs acrylic,etc.). Thanks for any information you can give me with this.....
