  1. JSC

    PTJigs

Broke down and got the PT mold ... poured, painted & tied a few. Need to tie them to the end of a line and get them wet
  2. Those really look good XT on BLT about the mold
  3. Here are a couple examples of the best "Holding Stems" for Soft Plastic. (In my opinion been using this set up since the 60's) The "Nipple" end after insertion holds all the way around ... as well as a Suction effect. Works best when you cut off any rounded end ... Lube (water is ok) and insert. The Single or Double Barb part "Cut" there way in and leave a cut trail. The wire is to me the second best way. Hope this throws some more light on the subject.
  4. X2 Mark ... More reservoir
  5. You can use "Butt Rings" but you will have to "Weld" the joint some way.
  6. Now if you want to get down to the "Nitty Gritty" with the Presto pots (Stirring System and all ) I would still like to use them for pouring open and hand pour molds so as I see if I would have to drill a hole and install a fitting in each to accomidate the injector assembly. Just looking to get more "Bang for the Buck"
  7. X-2 Get a thermometer as the heat dial on the presto is not all ways correct. AND STIR if you do not have a motorized system.
  8. On most all with a flat side I rig it with the hook thru the flat side .. on a lot of baits it means a better hook up as you have a smooth level surface. Just .02 cents worth
  9. I like to use "24 Gauge .. Steel ... Galvanized Wire" Several places to purchase it .. I get it in 100 ft rolls
  10. I am with BL ... The Fonts need to be "Brighter" (had to come back & edit .. for some reason had a line run thru all of the above I selected it and clicked the "Remove Format" button to get rid of it ???)
  11. There is only one other thing that I see that you might be doing and that is picking up air when you load your injector. Take it off of the very bottom of the pot ... Are you sucking in some ejecting then filling the injector? If so you may be injecting air into the pot then picking up an air pocket when refilling ... I have had that to happen to me several times ... Pre heating the injector can help ... I do this by laying it across the top of the pot while stripping molds.
  12. Does any one know of another source for this type of paint. Thanx
  13. Mark I find them to be a lot easier .. Once you get the hang of it and a lot neater twist and you can cut the Tag Shorter..
  14. That is the one .... Safety Wire Pliars ... They work like a charm ... Wish I could have had these while in Air Force doing Maintenace on those good ol Recip engines (Prop Driven) ... some hard to get to places ... These work great I use 24 gauge Steel Galvanized Wire ... comes in 100 ft rolls ... use "O" rings to hold the skirt on .. after wireing it on .. roll the "O" ring off ... rarely do I cut a skirt .. will break most of the time before cutting ... Can really get a good "Flare" by "wireing it" ... Works good on spinner baits or jigs ... if you like to change skirts a lot then use the regular collars but you will not get the "Flare" ....
  15. Your timing (and Hand), temp of plastic as stated (Hot) ..to pour then to round off .. bring it back with an even lighter stream. Pouring from the Presto and moving the mold .. to me .. is a lot easier. Like was said earlier Practice ....
  16. Like Kajan said as low as you can ... Now this will vary .. If you are pouring from a Presto you have to watch the flow from the valve ... If you get it to low you will stop the flow ...
  17. Several of them out there .... 1 and 2 pc molds ... check out all of the Plastisol & mold suppliers
  18. Fill the Mold ... then come back over the center to round it off ...
  19. Some times ... You can cure them in an oven
  20. I use the store bought release (cant think of the name) But in a pinch "Soot it Up" with a candle flame.
