  1. Bob gave a good summary of the subject. Having been in it (Tackle Biz) more ways than one ... the tackle industry at one time broke the margins down as follows (since that time it will vary slightly according to deals & etc) Retailer Sells an item for 1.00 it cost him (60%) (40% profit) .60 (.40 profit) the jobber sold it to him at that price it cost the jobber 50%-10% off of the 1.00 (.45) That leaves him with a 25% profit (.15) (All of this is Gross profit) In order to do it up right the Mfg should have a good Sales Rep orginization (or individual) and this part is 10% of what he sells it to the jobber (.045) .. So we are now down to .405 and out of that comes another 10 % FET == .36 (that is off of the .45 it sold for) All of this with out taking in all the over head and there is a bunch of it in every level of sales. Wal Mart went so far as to tell the Mfgs that they did not need the Reps and wanted that 10% .. Make sure you have all your Ducks in a row before you take it any further than a hobby or as a custom made item. Hope this was not confusing 2 cents worth JSC

  10. Good inforomation Guys ... Keep it Up. I have a mold that looks like I have "Butchuered" (SP) it with a hand drill ... but it works to take several different sizes of hooks .. Weighted Hook Mold . (not an "everyday " mold .. custom made by Ament years ago) ... Sure did hate to disfigure it, but it still works. JSC
  11. Frank ... another great video ... seems like I have seen that dipping minnow before ... Great job JSC
  12. For 2 tone effect, with out having to go thru the expense and learning curve with an air brush, Try the "Sprinkling or Tapping" with a brush ... A perfect example of it is Cadmans Avitor (Spinner Bait) .. He has some instructions on doing this and chek out TJs Videos .. (I would reccomend watching all of them) ... Good Luck JSC

  17. The Following is using with an "O" Ring which is a lot easier to remove and not wasting "Bands by cutting them off (Bands are hard to just slide off). You can use an "O" Ring many times. JSC
  18. Great Video ... I know this will help others Thanx JSC
  19. It works but...... make sure it is in a "streamer style" or you will get more twists than U mite like. JSC
  20. Ditto on the above ... another little thing is that on the exposed end, while painting .. heat the end of the wire and dip in the Powder Paint (clear off any excess) makes it a little neater and helps keep the strands together. JSC
  21. Samples on the way .. Where to get it depends on how much you want .. for a small amount you should be able to get it from several of the mail order suppliers ... If you want a lot of it (several hundred + + yards) let me know and I will put you on to a OEM. JSC
  22. Rather than use the single strand try using about a 10 lb. test uncoated cable wire leader material. PM me with your address and I will send you some to try. JSC
