  1. I had 2 of the small Lee pots ... cooked the plastisol in micro wave and poured into the pots for pouring into mold ... once you get the temp .. stiring thing down right you can really do some great pouring in an open mold ... you get a good small stream and with 2 pots going you can do some good multi color work ..... I went to the Presto Pot (2) they solve a lot of problems but is hard to get the stream right for real fine detail as I could with the Lee. 2 cents worth JSC
  2. Dont get old !!!!! Just get Older .. When I wake up in the AM I like to look down at the Grass........ JSC

    A Funny Story

Rick I could not resist adding that little sarcasim ... hope you get it worked out. Man that was good PJ ... no wonder I stay in the "Dog House" so much (been married to the same woman for all most 55 years ... dont know how to figure them out yet). Have a good day yall JSC
  6. Make you some "Dipping" pans (best out of wood and with a V shape) about 16" long Next make up some stips to hang them on about 14 inches long and drill holes the required distance to keep the jigs from touching each other ( the thickness and width of the strips will depend on the size of the jigs) Now make a rack out of 2X4s (turn on edge and connect on the ends with a strip width between 2x4s roughly 12" wide enough to accomidate the strips. Length of 2x4s you can detrmine by space available Hang the jigs on the strips .. dip them "Screte" them and hang on rack for drying Hope you get the general idea .. before power paint I did this with lacquer. 7. Add a few wheel weights to harden your lead & then as "Smalljaw" said JSC

    Lead Properties

There is some of the best information on lead that you can find anywhere on this site. Pull a search and be ready for good long, educational read .. I don't care how little or how much you have done of it I will Gurantee you that you will learn something from it. Not being a smart@.. just trying to be helpful JSC
  10. That is the lure, but I think that Pix came from an AD ?? I rember the Lure being in a "bag" .. I only had one of them back in the "50's" when soft plastics were first on the "move" and this was an early "Shot" at the market .. I never did a lot with it (remember catching a Big Blue Gill on it off of a ledge in Lake Martin Alabama the "Stinger Hook" got him) Had a great action. 2 cents worth JSC

    Inline Spinners

Just a note ... You got some good replies ... I hope you pulled a "Search" on this subject as there is a lot of information on it. A lot of the "Wire Work" on regular Spinner baits will apply to this subject as well.. 2cents worth JSC
  12. Epoxy Coat them. Also works a good % of the time is apply them before Bakeing. JSC
  13. On that Sore Throat .. Sounds like you might be having some Sinus Drainage .. Sinus could be messed up from the fumes. WEAR THAT MASK !!!!!!!!!!!! JSC
  14. 2 more cents worth.. GOOD BB Swivels do spin the BEST but having said that I use crane swivels 90 % of the time .. I have this little idea that you get more Vibration and a little extra "Squeak" out of them. Along with this I use extra light wire (less than .030) on my "Finese" ones (1/4 & 3/8 oz) ..(this goes back to the extra vibration factor) .. Just a couple of things to factor in. JSC
  15. Do a search on the topic as it has been discussed (and cussed) a lot ... read the tutorial on fluxing ... lot of good stuff here .. JSC

    Pyrex Warmer

You need to check out "Bojons" Way of doing it.. His CD Shows you how to do all in regards to "Dipping" and how to keep your plastisol useable. JSC

  18. Gosh I hate sound like a "Know It All" and to throw "Cold Water" on an idea ..... Belive me this mite work BUT ... I have great doubts that you mite get one of them to count you in ... going in with a smaller mfg is as close as I can see this happening on this route. Good Luck Jim C.
  19. "JSC, I for one, would love to read a lot more of your experiences in the industry. I think it would be a big eye opener for anyone thinking about taking the next step. I think the information would be relevant to this thread, or you could start a new discussion. I feel certain that others would be interested too. Dave Dave Thanx for the request but I have to more or less "Go with the Flow" to really putthis in the proper perspective (Speelin) would take a book and I have trouble "Rambling" .. need to be able to really concentrate on the subject ... maybe some where down the road I mite can get it all together .. till then I will try to chime in with the subject at Hand. Thanx Jim C.
  20. Thur the years I have seen a lot of this ... (I was in the "makein" Bizz in the 60 - early 70s ... Retail B &T and before retireing abouy 30 years as a "Jobber" salesman .. all the time in the tackle biz) ..... in all phases I have seen this .. had others "Knock Off" ideas (I could go into all kinds of mistakes in the Mfg, but Would take up to much space) ... Make a long story short .. Regardless of how great your lure is ... you gotta run it 1st with a strictly Biz manner (plenty of capital and know how to mainipulate it .. Market Skills and etc) in your efforts to get it on the market with out the capital to advertise is the biggest mistake made by some one starting out in this biz .. regardless to how good it is the chance of "Luck" helping you is really small ... I could go on & on about this subject as I have seen so many have a great item but did not have the skills to market it ... a lot of pitfalls besides getting "Knocked Off" .. I got "Knocked Off" and made a crucial mistake in marketing it and that was to let a jobber have an "exclusive" for a Year ... he sold a ton .. and demand in that area was created ... other jobbers wanted it ... other Mfgs filled the demand the next year and both made an improvement on the design ... Hope this little info might help ... It takes many factors to make it work don't get the "Cart before the Horse" Example have a demand before "jumping in" to something like "I cast" thats for down the road and you need to have GOOD MFG REPS at that time. My 2 cents JSC
  21. Pull a "Search" for "Bojon" .... send him a PM and he will get with you ... this is about the best info U can get on "Dipping" Tubes. JSC
  22. Hi Not to cut you short ... but make a search on each of the topics as these things have benn discussed many times. Then if you have a few more specific questions do not hesitate to ask ... plenty of help will be available. Have a good one JSC

    Dead

Guys it all ways gets this slow this time of the year ... Summertime and a lot of the lures made during the winter are being used now. It is hot as it can be right now but have managed to get out about 2 to 3 times a week for the past 3 weeks ... my river has been a little high for where the best Bass fishing is this time of the year (got down a little last week and I hit a couple of the spots and in on "hole" I made 4 cast and caught 4 back to back on 1/4oz spinner bait (In this same hole I have hit it a lot of times and caught 20 or more) ... I think I only caught 6 keeper size bass and they were1 1/2 to 3 # ... the rest of the time my youngest Gran Son (10 year old) and I caught good sized Warmouth ... The water I have had to fish with the high water like it is turned out few Bass but I have "Loaded Up" on good size warmouth 20 to 40 per morning ( I have only been staying out till around 11:00) All of this on 1/4 oz extra light wire spinner bait (Bass have been real slow on plastic right now). Next week it looks like I might get in a morning or 2 up river ... just hope the wind does not hold the tide in to bad. We in this area are holding our breath .. sweating out the oil spill .... our beaches in this area can be cleaned easier than the marshes and we are really worried about it getting in the Bay .. The Beaches are "Sandy" while the marshes have the grass that catches the "Mess" I really hate to see the results in the marshes in LA ... 2 counties the one I live in and the one to the west have worked up plans to try and keep it out of the Bay by holding it out of the Destin Pass ... this is despite of what the FEDS have to say about it (the FEDS plan will not do the job). Ive talked long enough. Have a Good Day JSC
