  2. Sounds like the molds you have want you to pour directly down the center, also top off the pour ... as you see it contracting add a little more until it all sits on top ... sounds like it is hot enough but just in case get it a little hotter and check it out. Hope that helps JSC
  3. Thanx for that information Richard ... just placed an order with them ... beats the heck out of Office Depot for the same Avery labels ... I use a good ol'HP - 895cse (and it is several years old on 3rd computer) Have an Epson sitting over there that I use for the scanner that thing uses more Ink ,Not using it and it still uses it, don't know where it goes. Thanx JSC

  6. After all this time got my replacement in on the 25 of August (8/25) (Started action on 6/19). It was as described by WIT "Only thing with the replacements are that you get 2 nozzles with the thing and it's Stanley yellow instead of black. No big deal and the 2 tips may come in handy" Have not tried it yet ... Hope this ends this adventure. JSC

  8. STP There is some great information concerning this ...Pull a search and you can find out more than you might want .... All the way from buying lead to processing it to pouring painting and etc .... Some great information has been laid out by some guys that know their stuff. Hope this might help JSC
  9. I would really check this out .. can be a problem. JSC
  10. "Menards took mine back ater I told them about the recall. I was really surprised. They were really decent about it. You know Wagner makes an excellent heat gun, but boy there customer service is really slow. You would think that they would put it in high gear, so no one would get hurt or burn the house down." I think they contract that Customer Service out .. I have thrown the envelope away but it was not directly from wagner .. Glad you got yours taken care of so easily .. we will se how long it takes to get one back. JSC
  11. After all this time and a couple of phone calls I got my UPS label on the 13th August and had it to the UPS pick up point by 07:45 14th ... not lets see how long it takes to get one back. JSC
  12. "JSC, you read the post wrong I believe, Floatfly is saying the blade spins better on the larger wire and not as good on the smaller wire, that why I think his problem is swivel related." U right ... I just re read it Thanx Not a wire problem that I can figure JSC
  13. Sounds to me like you are not "Feeling" the vibration of the spinner with the heavier wire. The lighter the wire the more vibration and gives you the sensation it is spinning better. My JSC
  14. On 2 pc NON INJECTED molds U got a problem. With an open mold you add the weighted hook (Jig or what have you} after you pour and you will need a device such has been described to hold it in place untill the plastic has harden enough to support it .... JSC
  15. You have the advice from the experts ... Just worth more ... When you "Swish" the item "Tap" it off on the top edge of the container ... this will get rid of any loose powder ... JSC
  16. Get who ever wants this color to get you a sample. There are all shades out there being called shrimp from white to pink, green and etc. Do not know of any one extruder having the same shrimp color. Would like to see what you are needing. JSC
  17. Since you are dipping ... just make several coats to thicken it up .. of course with hardner added. Should work. Good Luck JSC
  18. Years ago the first plastic we got a hold of was Vinyl ... came as a liquid as platisol and cooked in the mold to cure it out .. tossed the Alum molds into water to cool it. (I used a gas stove ... started it on the surface but found that after a certain point that if I stuck it in the oven at 350 I got a better product) It is not reusable !!!!!!!!! Some of the older worms and some grubs were made with this and you could do all kinds of color work with it. Came in different degrees of hardness .. Do not know where you can get it now (have not searched for it) ... the last I remember seeing (never bought any from them) was from Herters. My Worth JSC
  19. Up Date Been about 3 weeks ... Called Wagner today & was told that they had a little trouble with printing the pick ups but they would be out this week .............. JSC
  20. "Add a touch of green highlight to that and it should look really good. www.novalures.com" I'll 2nd that ... would be a great color. JSC

    Adding scent?

The only way the fish can tell us anything is by what they do ... and sometimes we miss that because they will at times attack anything .... masking the odor of the original plastic is more for the fisherman than the fish .... my opinion and it may not be worth ..... Over 60 year of chunking artificals you would think I would have some real solid conclusions about fishing and I do have one ... when you think you have them figured out they will turn around and contridict (SP) your conclusion ... The oil of Anise has been used since the first days of the Plastic Worm ... and it is still hanging right in their ... Good Thread JSC
  23. It just takes a lot ... I mean A LOT of Mixing ... I really have no idea how long it will last I had a 5 gal Metal Pail full from the early 70's ... it was work getting it mixed (the older formulas would settle a lot faster than the new stuff). I t was a Saltwater Grub type plastic and had a little more hardner to it and this makes mixing a lot harder as well. Saving some of it to check all along. My JSC
  24. Sagacious .... Thanx again for some useful information ... all these years and had not gone to the extent of some experiments I should have made. Keep us straight Thanx JSC
