  1. I like the way the #2 wiggler runs with the colorado better than the sally (The Avatar Pic is me landing an 8+ on a sally) this is really Sally Country even now ... Have not seen a wiggler in use for years here in NW FL .. I have sold a lot of both thru the years as a jobber salesman in this area. I ment the Wiggler was cheaper than some of the others that day and time but was a heck of a lot of money for me carrying newspapers and such .. The Sally Came along several Years after the Wiggler .. I think it was in the 50's that Lew Childre talked Allen Hildebrandt into making it .. it was a take off of the wiggler and also the Weighted fly "Yellow Sally" which you attached a spiiner to and hung on a Uncle Josh Frog ... a killer then and now along the tide waters of the Gulf Coast. I guess I could go on & on .. but that is enough for this time
  2. I have cast them a million miles ... Have never seen a knock off of it .. You could make a mold (or have one made) which model do you want ? they had the #1, 1 1/2, 2 (#3 was spoon) the one of choice for me was the #2 .. sometimes you might break one side and have to smooth it off and file off the other side to match and would run like the #1 1/2 ... In later years I have removed the old blade and replaced it with a colorado but you would have to run the skirt straight instead of the more perfered reversed .. I stil have one or two of them ... gave me something else to do for the day and that is find them. You brought back many memories with that good old bait ... course the old "Sputterfuss" part of the series was the first "Buzz Bait" I used ... the old reels were slow and you really had to wind it up to keep it buzzing but it caught a lot of fish as well. When you were a kid back in those days the Wiggler was one of the cheaper lures (1.10 each) and it saved many a p enny by not getting hung (xcept in the worse occasions like cold water in the fall and you would have to strip down and turn blue getting that baby back). I forget the price of the skirts but they would come ungluded and you had to "Rubber Band" the collar to keep on going .. You carried a trailer hook (generly a small treble with one cut off so that it would ride with the 2 hooks up) along with this we used a piece of leather that was slipped over the main hook to keep the trailer on. Most of my fishin with this bait was in small creeks and ponds ... I could keep on talking about it but I get to "Long Winded"
  3. Most all hardwares have them
  4. Use the "O" rings to hold skirt in place for tie n as stated by CM & SJ. Luckily I had some from way back that do the job right but they are not tight enough to hold a skirt on fishin ...
  5. I can remember my Kids doing those things .. I guess that ages me a little more.
  6. TF .. A " Big Blow Out" might be a disaster, Walking Canes, Crutches, Wheel Chairs and Etc. "Hi I'm Jim" 10 minutes later to the same person "Hi I'm Jim" and what am I doing here? You get what I mean otherwise you have not gotten that old. By the way I am not old "Just getting Older" ... Young guys look at my rod & reels and think what antique collection did he get that stuff ... Don't knock it .. It works. Spent enough on overhauling some reels to buy several new ones. I don't have any way to bring samples of my stuff to a gathereing What were we talking about any way ?? Sorry had a Senior moment
  7. Dang I missed out on that .... to old .... Made a Worm That I called a Creepy Crawler Sewed in Rubber feelers

  9. I think that you are intrested ini a 2 pc closed mold for hand pouring ?? They are available ,,, Not noticed as much now as they were before hand Injection became the thing.
  10. Google -- "Reverse Letter and Number Stamps"
  11. Bob You are right about the letters being backwards on the bait ---Duh ! I wonder if some one may have a set that is backwards ??
  12. Man that is really a clean, neat well organized work bench.
  13. The Stamping I am speking of is to use steel letters like on the end of a punch. Old typewriter keys sometimes work.

    Sealing Lead

XXX2 on the Oxidation Makes a real mess ... Plastisol reacts badly with a lot of paints as well as rubber.

    Sealing Lead

Epoxy will work but the easiest and cheapest is to Powder Paint coat. See the wire baits section for more information on Powder Painting.

    Bojon

I know a lot of you in the Plastic Forum would want to know that Ron "Bojon" Kochevar passed away yesterday (Wed 3/5/14). He has not been active on the forum for some time due to health problems. His Daughter In Law sent me an E Mail this AM to inform me of it. He made a big contribution to the makeing of Tubes. I know he helped a lot of You guys and has had an influance on others .. We will miss him Jim C.

  22. XX2 to what Mike said ... a few years back they would go out of the way to help You (have not seen one in a while) .. but when it comes to collection they can be tough even when a mistake is made (lost in the mail payments and when it gets to them a day or 2 late) for years what little bit I have done I had figured my 10% one way and one of the "Checkers" showed me another and gave me credit for a few years back. Good Luck
  23. Just a side note ... Look to pay a penaltiy on the back taxes .. They can figure and spend dollara to collect on a .02 cent penalty.
