  1. Mark Said "Those are some beautiful baits! " X2
  2. From Painter "What is "regular worm oil" made from if not vegetable or mineral oil? Light hydraulic oil maybe? " I belive the other guys got it right ..."DINP" Good for deluting concentrated colors as well ... need to keep at least a quart on hand if for nothing else than "Slicking Up" baits to get in a bag easier.
  3. Mineral oil over a period of time will shrink and harden the plastisol ... I think using regular worm oil is the best alternative
  4. On remelts ... try using high lites with them ... makes some great colors Thanx Nova for this tip/
  5. Just an added 2 cents worth ... Use Regular Bar soap to grease the pull pin. "Drag" the pin thru it before the next pour while it is still hot ... Learned this trick from a fellow that did tons of sinkers .. Hope this helps
  6. thanx for the info on the flex coat being resistant to soft plastic. I know it has been used on rods for a long time but had never thought of using it for a top coat. Thanx
  7. One Question About the Flex Coat ... It is resistant to Soft Plastics? If not you need to be carefull with it .. Trailers and what else it might come in contact with. That is one of the good things about Epoxy Soft Plastics will not damage it. Just a thought. The Spinner Bait Looks Great ... Just get it wet and catch some on it.
  8. Wright & McGill for years were strictly hook Mfgs. Thru the years they have added to their line ... I think Rods were the first thing they made outside of hooks .. now they have a whole division of misc. tackle. Back in the old days their domestic rods were great. X2 on the new hooks.
  9. Make a "Flat Cut" on the head where you stick the hook in ... this will give you a smoother ... Wider connect.
  10. "Saltfisher's Cookbook in Word 97-2003 format and plain text format: Any one adding formulas/receipe to this list please share (in the many formats people are wanting) Attached Files PLASTIC COLOR COOKBOOK (word 97-2003 format).doc 56.5K 5 downloads PLASTIC COLOR COOKBOOK (plain text).txt 18.62K 2 downloads " Thanx That Did the Trick
  11. "Salftfishers doc version of a cookbook attached: Attached Files PLASTIC COLOR COOKBOOK.doc 35.87K 1 downloads" What Version of Word was this created in ? Try converting to plain Text if you can My version of word will not open it.
  12. Thanx Ted and ING .. have checked out a bunch of sites .. none have what I am lookin for except the Pro Tech .... really did not want to try & mix .. would rather get it ready to go.
  13. Since you are on this subject ... who sells Chartruse (green side) besides ProTech ??

    That will work
  15. The only place I have gotten them is direct from Dolphin who now owns Hilts Molds. You might find some on the internet .. 2 cents worth
  16. Hang in there ... looks like progress is being made ..
  17. Bob .. I think you could but I don't think I would care for it (using Injector on open molds) I can see a lot of flow problems ... I am not good at pouring with a cup but with a presto with bottom valve you can really control the flow and that is where I see an injector would have problems ... I do both and see advantages for both depending on the lure configuration ... Years ago I could really turn them out with a "Wax Dropper" But the presto when used correctly is a little better.
  18. "Do the hand poured molds like lurecraft and even the more expensive aluminum ones leave a flat side on one half of the baits, or does it produce a decent bait? Thanks to all in advance." Depends on your skill in pouring ... You do not want to over pour nor underpour .. a rounded off top side is desired .. Practice is the name of the game for open pour molds ... A lot of things (laminates and etc) can be done with this method.
  19. That was a great video .... Gave some of you guys some ideas I bet. Thanx for sharing

  22. "I think most of it is mineral oil" DO NOT USE MINERAL OIL UNLESS YOU WANT TO MAKE A MESS
