Didn't mean to suggest they copied in any sort of way or are not good people. I am sure they are. I was just stating that by looking at it from the angles I looked it it looked like they basic shape of that with some pinchers. Not it any way was I meaning to slight anyones hard work because they obviously put a lot work into it.
Not sure if I'm stating the obvious here but it's basically a swimbait (california swimbabes version) with some craw pinchers. It even has the chamber like Del's swimbait also. I was on the site last week that had them and can't remember the name for the life of me.
Personally... i think it's so ugly that it will catch a tone of fish because of all the vibration it will create. JMHO.
I would get Del's Stik Kit. That is what I started with and I am total addict know. I am up to four stik molds and about 9 other molds. Good luck and be careful... hand pouring is like a crack addiction! Del has a great basic stik formula article on his site also.
Mine would be a 5.25 Stick Bait in my Black Magic color (Black w/ chartreuse, blue, & green flake)... I know... Shameless plug but seriously... up here in Michigan I can pretty much go to any lake around me an slay'em with it.
Here is is. I just wanted to make make sure it was okay first. I was looking at getting a jon boat and converting it. I would love to but don't have the time. I think it is going to be a winter project.

These guys do some great work!
Not sure how kosher this is but there is another forum site like ours that all they do is jon boat conversions. Some of the things they do are awesome. If you want to know what it is pm me. If everyone decides it is kosher I will post a link to the site.
A day or so before use... I normally put about 8-9 drops in and then move the baits around in it so they get covered. You'll be amazed at what happens after a a day or two.
I mix it in and put it on right before I ship it out. It generally isn't too oily by the time they go to use it.
I am going to get it from Upperhand Scents. Del's anise oil is great though too. That's what I use now.
I use it in my lighter colored baits so it doesn't stain them unless I want to brown it up a little. It works great.
I think I am going to order some of the anise & hawg sauce combo from upperhand scents just to see how it works.
How close do you get when color matching a bait with salt like a stick bait and a finesse worm? I tried this weekend on a bait and it did not come out right at all. Made several attempts.... just wondering what others are doing.
I've done a lot of reading lately on other forums and everyone suggests not to put a high deck on your boat if it is v-hull and if it is a jon and you want a high deck it should be at least 42 inches at the bottom of the transom. My problem is I am having a hard time finding a a jon boat in my neck of the woods... nothing but v-hulls here.
I have not purchased mine yet but I will be getting one soon. I plan on using 1"x1"x1/8" aluminum angle for the support. You will have to rivet it but it will be much lighter than wood.
Ha... Here husband is a hippy but for some reason plays World of Warcraft.
It was a customization of an existing rod, a Gander Mountain Competitor.
I haven't quite ventured into doing the whole shabang yet. I plan on it in the near future.
It's a Gander Mountain Competitor Rod. I modified it from a full cork grip. It's actually for one of my employee's husband who doesn't fish that much so she didn't want to buy and expensive rod but wanted something that looked cool.
Just finished up my first rod for a customer. They wanted a Grateful Dead themed split grip rod with the Grateful Dead Tree of Life. Here's what I came up with. What do you think?
I just made a split grip and after I cut the cork down I took a heat gun to it and scraped it with an exacto knife. I was able to get it all the way down the graphite. Took the paint and epoxy off. I did so by scrapping with the knife perpendicular to the grain of the graphite. The blank came out completely flat with no bumps. Just thought I would pass it along.
