  1. It may be overkill if you are pouring just a few baits but I look at this way... Safety first... too much is better than not enough any day of the week. I don't get the headache's or bloody noses I was when pouring without the mask. I don't have to smell the plastic or scent until I take the mask off so it is minimal time of exposure. We only get one go round at life so why not be safe.
  2. That's the same one that I use and it works great!
  3. Combo Stick mold is sold. I updated the price on the 8 legged creature also.

    Red Shad

    Nice! That picture looks sweet!
  6. I use anise while cooking and hawg sauce while bagging. I was putting in a 1/2 teaspoon per half cup but that did not seem to cut it for me. I am to teaspoon now. I just wanted to know whether I was still on low side or high. I too use the Tupperware method when bagging.
  7. I just recently started infusing plastic with scent while I pour and I was just curious how much scent everyone might be putting in their plastic when they pour it and at what point do you put it in? Have you noticed if it affects the softness of the worms?
  8. Thanks for the replies. I will give it whirl at the end of the week.
  9. I think I already know the answer to my question but I just wanted to verify with others. When I was pouring with my pouring pot on Friday night I noticed that as I got down to the end my flake clumped up in the center and my baits had less flake than normal in them. My pouring pot is tilted at an angle from back to front. My paddle is about 1/8" away from the bottom of the pot. I tend to have the same thing happen when pouring with Pyrex cups also. Long story short.... am I using too much flake? I think I am but was wondering what everyone else thought.
  10. Try some pearl with a few drops of marina blue until you get it how you want it.
  11. Jiff... you have to use Jiff!!! Oh yeah... don't forget the Smuckers too! Sorry... I too. I could not help myself.
  12. I have not done that either. It would be interesting to do. Not sure if it would truly translate the color properly on a bait that has salt in it also.
  13. Bob's 4" Craw Qty: 1 Condition: Used but in great shape Cavities: 2 Length: Just under 4" Type: One Piece Price: $25 ea (shipping included in price) This is a picture of the bait it makes.
  14. Thanks for the quick response guys. Here is what I did so far: After doing some reading on the internet I took some WD-40 and spray a mold. Then I let it set for a few minutes and wiped it clean. I could not believe how dirty it had gotten. My towel was completely black! Then I repeated the process again. After reading some replies here I rinsed it down with water and wash cloth. Then I blew it dry with a heat gun on a low setting. This mold now looks brand new. I cannot believe it. Is there anything else I should do? I do have a question on cleaning the cavities too. Can I use a toothbrush to clean it out really good or is that too abrasive?
  15. So last night I helped my wife out and spray painted some caps to a baby food jars for a snow globe project she is making for her class. I thought I had everything sealed off but I guess I did not so when I went down to pour some baits I noticed a white film on my molds. I am guessing it was the spray paint I used yesterday because it was not there two days ago. Does any know what I could use to safely clean / remove the paint without damaging my aluminum molds?

Yes, I used used a divided cup.
  17. Unfortunately, I don't have an opening that large or I would do the same thing. Thanks for the idea though.

    Blue Craw Swirl

This is my attempt at a Blue Craw swirl.
  19. Thanks for the tips! I would effectively be doubling the size of the station for pouring. It would be enclosed with a clear shower curtain in front to create more of a vacuum effect also. What I have now works but I keep thinking safety first! If I do go with option A I was planning on running it totally separate until it goes out the house. It only has to go roughly 10 feet. I could move it so they both only went about 5' though. I already have a booster fan at the end of the run also to aid with the distance. I forgot to mention also that it is 6" pipe that is why I put the boost fan in.
  20. I am working on yet another redesign of my workshop and was wondering what everyone thought work better in a pouring booth. Basically I have it set up like a paint booth. My two options are... A) Two 160 CFM Range Hoods (I already have one set up so I would just need to get an additional one.) - $40 @ Menards One 350 CFM Fan- $100 on Grainger If I go with option A wouldn't that effectively make it 320 CFM?
