Yeah that was me. I don't need a ton, couple dozen maybe. 3/16 and 1/4 with #1 hook. I like a compact bait for winter fishing rocks.

I don't do lead. Looking to buy some. Used to buy a jig from BPro but they discontinued it. Wire isn't very heavy at all, just enough to keep it from hanging constantly. I'm over by Carthage, I think we talked at Stockton one morning. AKA unclebass

I'm trying to come up with a good jig head that uses a lightweight wire weedguard to tie with bucktail for smallmouth. Fishing Tablerock and Stockton in Mo. in winter I like a smaller weight and small profile. Any suggestions?

Anybody making California 420. Can't find it around here and pics aren't clear enough to tell color mix.

Just spray some Bang or other fish attractant in the bag, works for me when I'm out of worm oil.

You guys getting fish eyes with Etex might be "stretching" it too much. I had tons of problems with it and tried cleaning and re cleaning before applying, still had problems. Someone on here had mention being sure to apply epoxy finishes liberally to avoid problems. Once I started to put it on thicker I had no more problems. Don't brush too much!

It may have something to do with the solvent not being mixed in good. I had some old Dn that was getting thick and tried to use it anyway. I got it on the bait and it dried fine, but it peeled right off. The solvent has to penetrate the paint somewhat to make the clear stick.

It has an excellent shine to it and passes the 24hr immersion test.

Dip fast and hit with a heat gun to hurry the solvent out............

Just add some red to Bear's, works great................

Epoxy is very brittle and does tend to chip. Try a different top coat like Dick Nite which much more "flexible" I does have it's own issues but it will handle the rocks well......................

If that is a Bagley there are guys that sell the exact lip. Might want to google around.

I had the same problem. Like Mark said, make sure each coat of paint is heat set and then shoot createx gloss coat on and heat set. I then heat the lure with a heat gun, dip quickly and hit again with the heat gun. I'm sure the cool temps have something to do with it as the solvent is slow to flash off.

As mentioned before look up "tap the can". It brushes on easily, just don't over brush. Do it with a loaded brush and move quickly.

I've been brushing out of the same DN can for over a yr now. Just punch a hole near the bottom on the side of the can and screw in a self tapping screw/bolt. After you take it in and out a couple of times the clear will seal around the screw. I pull the screw and let my finish run in to another container and brush it on quickly. Load your brush up good and start at one end letting the finish run down and keep your actual brushing to a minimum. I use AC1315 some too but the smell is awful plus it takes two coats for my taste.

EX-74 EX-74 is an extremely clear, tough, high gloss surface coating formulated to produce a deep glass like appearance in a single layer on a sealed surface. Two or more layers are often applied for added depth and protection. EX-74 has been formulated with UV inhibitors to reduce yellowing of epoxy coatings. EX-74 is not weather resistant and is not recommended for unprotected exterior use. Exterior use will cause a chalky surface requiring sanding and recoating to restore the glossy surface. EX-74 has an extended "open time" which allows up to 25 minutes in the mixing container at 70º F and up to one hour working time on the surface being coated. Not recommended in freezing climates due to possibility of de-lamination. Always seal porous surfaces such as wood or canvas with a thin brushed on layer of EX-74 before pouring a top coat.
