  1. Mann made a crank with this type of tie back in the 60's called the M79. Lots of pics if you google it.
  2. Also the faster the cure time the more brittle the finish.
  3. I get haze every time I use Solarez. Strictly an under coat from now on.
  4. After giving this some more thought, I bet the culprit is the paint itself. If you put a couple of heavy coats on and they aren't cured fully the clear will harden over it but as hard as it is DN is still flexible you would be able to dent the finish and it would explain the de-lamination of the finish. Also DN doesn't like to stick to some bills, 1.5 square bills in particular. Light coats of paint heat set should fix this.
  5. How thick are you putting it on? Two thin coats are the way to go, if you put it on too thick it will give you problems curing.
  6. Best advice................Keep your day job!
  7. DN s81 as final coat most of the time. Occasionally Etex on wood baits.

    Clear Peeling

Sounds like the urethane is not bonding to the under coat. What urethane is it? Does it have a solvent base? I'm not familiar with vinyl paints but it may be they don't mix with some top coats. I would call Spike it and ask about compatibility with top coats.
  9. I would imagine to two paints are different enough there is some separation going on. Try using one brand or the other.
  10. I wish I would have done this years ago. I have virtually no loss now by leaving it in the can.
  11. You can go to his web site and contact one of the guys thru the forums.
  12. Dick Nite is used for spoons. He sells paint as well.
  13. The excise tax we are talking about applies to fishing lures made from scratch to be sold. Granny selling doilies doesn't pay it because it does not apply to doilies. Some on ebay are middle men buying and selling. I'm sure some aren't legit but some never are. The money is supposed to go back to conservation/wildlife as mentioned above. You can google" Dingle-Johnson sport fishing act " to get details.
  14. It is Ad Block Plus, I had the same problem until allowing this site.

    Dn And Glitter.

Paint brush. I pick up an assortment at hobby stores when they are on sale. You can use different sizes depending on the area you want to cover.
  16. Excellent mold and the bait works great.
  17. If you go to Bandit's website you can get discontinued colors for 2.99. No one makes a knock off as good.
  18. Good people to deal with.

    Dn And Glitter.

I mix glitter with createx gloss coat and brush onto the areas I want it. Heat set then use DN as usual.

    Dn Storage

One screw is all I use. Give the can a light squeeze if it stops pouring. I have poured out enough to brush a dozen lures without any problems.
  21. I bought some skirts and jig heads a couple weeks ago and they shipped right out.

    Dn Storage

No, I have some but I don't want to crack open the DN can to spray it in. I used to dip and I did use Blox. but I was pouring it into other containers. The jars would always start to skin over at some point but the stuff in the can never would.

    Dn Storage

I quit pouring into a second container for storage and started using the tap the can method. I can use the whole qt. without any hardening in the can. I just pour out what I want to use and reseal the can with the self tapping screw. I had to start brushing it on but with the right brush and method it's as quick and easy as dipping.
