  1. Here is a list of mold sellers: basstackle.com btsmolds.com lurecraft.com enforcermolds.com ultramolds.com anglingai.com bearsbaits.com do-itmolds.com isbaits.com highrockmolds.com You should be able to expand your lure line-up from this list.
  2. Throw about 15 marbles into the jug and you will have no problem mixing it up. I usually get mine from the dollar store.
  3. Yes, everyone will get this error because the newsletter is not set up yet. He has alot of stuff to do yet and the newsletter does not make him his money so it may be a little while. Give it a few months and try again.
  4. For those that don't subscribe, Basstackle has a 20% off all molds sale from today till the end of the 4th.
  5. I have been using Garco for the last 2 months on baits that need a thin application. There was a learning curve but now that I have it down I am in love with it. I have had no storage problems at all when using bloxygen. The fumes are strong but the finish is amazing. The down side is the cure time.
  6. There can be a difference from brand to brand and color to color. As far as getting an even coat goes, if you dip straight in and then pull out you will have inconsistent results. Instead dip in swirl one or two times and then pull out and everything should be coated fine.
  7. Here are the scales I use: https://store.usps.com/store/browse/productDetailSingleSku.jsp?categoryNav=false&navAction=push&navCount=0&productId=P_842299&categoryId=shipping-supplies They are $24.99. Sorry the shipping is not free but you can get them in your post office. If they don't have them tell them you want one and they will get it.
  8. I use the digital scales from the post office. I think they cost $30. They weigh in grams, ounces, and pounds up to 5 lbs. They are very accurate and affordable. If I am correct you can order them off of their website and they will deliver for free.
  9. On that blank I take the bait apart. Use an awl and pierce the plastic where the rod is on one side and then flip it over and push the rod out with the awl. After you clear coat simply put the rods back in and a dab of D2t on each end of the rods. Here are some pics of a couple I did last year. The top one is done with Solarez and the bottom is with D2T
  10. Here is another place for cheap helping hands: http://www.frys.com/product/5276537;jsessionid=tnJnxxSbC-QpZresZrFqcg__.node2?site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG I put a handle on my helping hands and then a simple piece of wood with a hole drilled in it to hold my helping hands.
  11. I went to the website and found what I order. http://www.bdiexpress.com/cgi-bin/lansaweb?w=WENDECA+r=wrResults+part=PRD+f(W_QRYSTR)=?N=0!Ntk=part!Ntx=mode matchallpartial!Ntt=006%20N70 They are part# 006 N70 The dimensions are 1/8"x1/16" and they cost $4.66 per 500.
  12. The o-rings are for holding skirts onto jigs. I have been using the o-rings for about 2 years now and I love them. I use to only hand tie but since the o-rings I only tie my heavy cover jigs or my 3/4+ jigs. I haven't had a skirt slid down yet and I use a jig every time I go fishing. I quickly realized that the price for fishingskirts.com was a bit high so I now get them from here www.bdi-usa.com I don't know where to go on the website because they are local for me. I think I pay $1.50 per hundred.
  13. I clean all of my hook hangers and like bassguy I use the dremel wire brush wheel. I then use another little attachment that dremel has that I put inside the hook hanger and clean the inside of the hook hanger. Sorry, but I can't remember what that attachment is called.
  14. I pour alot out of this mold and I have no problem with the 3/8 and 1/2 ounce cavities but I can not pour the 5/16 with hard lead. I use soft lead in my bottom pour pot on the 5/16 and they will pour perfect every time. I should mention I always heat my molds on a hot plate turned all they way up. I don't know if the hot plate is needed or not because I heat all my molds before I pour.
  15. I heat around 400 degrees. You can leave them in there all day if you want. As far as how long before you start powder coating that is based on how big the items are you are painting and how long it takes your particular oven to heat up.
  16. Call up Hagens. You can order whatever amount you like but if it is less than their minimum amount they will add $1 to your order. Their economy spoons range from 9 cents to 33 cents a piece.
  17. I thought for a while that there was just no need for a second weed guard until I was introduced to them. I make alot of different jigs and none of them will go through grass like the double weed guard jigs do. I have also had no bad results using them in hard cover. Dan1942, me and another guy are working on these jig heads as well and we are in the process of making a jig that will hold the jig head in place and at the correct angle to use with a drill press. We already know that this works but we are working on a more in depth holder so that we can add 2 weed guards to any jig head that has enough surface area.
  18. Like toadfrog said, just let the mold maker know what straight tail worm you want and they will have no problem making it in a hand pour mold.
  19. I use Ace Hardware's thread cutting oil. That one bottle will last me the rest of my days.
  20. I use cutting oil on my inserts. It is cheap and doesn't burn. Put a little bit on a paper towel and wipe it on your insert.
  21. Thanks for sharing the great video. Sorry, I can't help with the foil.
  22. I heat mine in a toaster oven and I use the heat gun just for a second to replace the lost heat from opening the toaster oven door repeatedly. Because I do it that way my heat gun is on the highest temperature setting with the blower on low. Below is a picture of a stand I made for my heat gun. It just prevents any lead or paint from falling into the heat gun when in a vertical position. 2 pieces of wood, aluminum flashing, 1/2 inch aluminum flat pieces to hold down the flashing, and some zip ties to hold the gun in place. Quick, easy, and it will prolong the life of your heat gun.
  23. http://rings.worthco.com/ and http://www.hagensfish.com for the split rings.
  24. We know that it can be buffed to a very glossy finish because we have a video showing us. I don't care about the shine so I won't figure it out but they do show in the video they are using a glaze polish. Maybe that is the key to keep the buffing wheel from burning the finish. It took him no time at all to put a beautiful shine on that whole board.
  25. A bench grinder with a buffing wheel would probably only take less than a minute per bait and it would have no problem getting in all the small spaces. I do have some of these buffing wheels and the good ones that won't fall apart can get a bit expensive.
