  1. Bob and Kevin work together at Basstackle.
  2. I CAN'T WAIT JASON!!!!!!!!!
  3. Actually you can buy by the half pound. Usually the only ones you have to buy by the pound is the ones on sale.
  4. I buy most of my powder from them. I have had no problems that wasn't resolved. If you get a powder that doesn't flow as smoothly in a fluid bed as it should, they will take care of it. I use 12 colors from them and there is one color that is not as durable and that is hot pink. Other than that I am 100% satisfied. Also if you are looking for popular fishing colors like green pumpkin it will not be listed as such, you are better off looking for the RAL #. They will use the colors true name and not its fishing name. I believe green pumpkin is yellow olive. A RAL # is a number that is used to denote a recipe for a color. In other words if a color has a RAL # any company can make that color, but if a color does not have a RAL# you may be stuck getting that color from that one supplier because other companies may not be able to match the color.
  5. Before his machine was available to everyone I asked him if it would work with everyone's molds and he said that he was only designing it to work with his molds. That may have changed since then, but once he told me that I never gave it another thought.
  6. I don't see a picture, but I would really like to see it.
  7. I have been using the soft and medium for the last 6 years and would not change for anything. There really is not a bad plastic out there, you just have to decide what you want your plastic to do. Lure Craft plastic is a true floating plastic. I have tried most brands of plastics and although they say they are floating I have found out that they are in fact neutral bouyant, not floating. In other words if you lay a bait in water it will float if you push it under the water it will not float back up, but lure craft's you can push under water and it will always float back up.
  8. I use cutting oil, the kind you use when you are cutting or drilling metal. It is a great lubricant when you are using something that might get hot. It also works great on lead molds because it will hold up to the heat.

    Brush Jig

I can't speak about how it works in grass because I use other jigs for that but for it's intended purpose it fishes great. It does well in rocks for me to. If you are fishing in brush the stand up part doesn't matter but if you fish it in rocks, like I do, use a floating plastic for your trailers and it stands up fine.
  10. That is how I got started in the business and I have to say that I enjoy making baits for friends or money. I can get very busy at times but I still find it fun.
  11. Del at www.del-mart.com is having a buy one get one sale on molds.
  12. Without any detail other than a picture, I would assume you are pouring out of a pop mold that needs to be resealed. If you are not pouring out of a pop mold then please give more detail.
  13. For those of you who didn't know, B.A.S.S. use to invest millions of dollars into lobbying to keep our lakes, rivers, streams, and wetlands from destruction. One of the biggest companies B.A.S.S. took on was Disney. They did not want Disney destroying any more wetlands to build amusement parks. After ESPN got bassmasters Disney bought ESPN to stop B.A.S.S. from lobbying against them, and it worked. The biggest threat to Disney, who owns ESPN, is the outdoorsmen. This has nothing to do with nascar, football, etc., they are simply removing their biggest threat which is all of us who care about the outdoors.
  14. I use a squirrel cage fan. You can get a fan really cheap from your local AC and heating contractor. I get mine used for around $25 each. These are the same fans that are used in furnaces to push hot air to the whole house. Just make a box to put the fan in. You have one opening in the box that blows all the smoke out that you have sucked up and you can put in as many leads to the box that you want. I have several pots running and I have a lead going above each pot. I have no smoke in my shop whatsoever. I also have a microwave station with 2 leads going to it. These leads can be positioned in less than 5 seconds to wherever I want them. And all of this runs off of one squirrel cage fan. I can not have any smoke in my shop because I have emphysema and with this setup I have none.
  15. Thanks for the input guys.
  16. Bassangler is correct but you will also have a one time plate fee for each size bag. Usually between $500 and $1500 depending on desing and number of colors.
  17. Just wanted to know if Bears' 2 color injector fits Basstackle's and Del-mart molds?
  18. I use Johnson bags. The price is good, the quality is great, and the customer service is great.
  19. From what you said you just made your first bait a couple of months ago. I would slow down and focus more on getting bait making experience. If you can't make baits with consistent quality and made in a timely manner (like the other guys that have been doing this for years) then you will set your self up for failure. It is really hard to get a customer to take a chance on your product but once you get them to buy it is even harder to keep them. So put yourself in a position so that when you do get some customers to buy you will be able to keep them coming back because once they leave you won't get them back and if you are inexperienced in your bait making skills then it will show.
  20. I like flat sided brush hogs and lizards.
  21. First and foremost you can make the best injector on the planet but if it doesn't fit the other mold makers molds then it wouldn't be much use to many of us. Most of the new injectors out there can be used in Del's, Bear's, and Basstackles molds. It needs to be able to lay on a hot plate to get warmed up, easily cleaned, easy to use, safe, and of course affordable.
  22. Actually there is a big difference, at least to me. The flat sided baits will not roll over near as much as the round sided baits. Usually for carolina rigging and split shotting I use a flat sided bait. I apologize your question was in reference to a 7" finesse worm and daveh is right there would not be much difference in that bait.

    Moderator

About a month and a half ago I made a post on here asking for the opinions of those who use 3D eyes and informed that if I had enough replies I would start to carry them. Well that post was removed. I don't mean it was moved to another area of TU but removed all together. I did not get a message as to why this happened or if I did anything wrong. So I emailed the moderator through TU's contact us form, not once but twice, and can not get a reply. This tells me that someone is doing something wrong or I would at least get a reply to why this was done. If someone is able to remove posts shouldn't they also inform those of why the posts were removed and more importantly if there is truly a moderator shouldn't they reply back to you when you have a question about his/her practices. I have never had a problem with TU up until this incident, but with all the insinuations going on about TU I have to say that the moderator is playing a big part in the problem or at least he/she is in my situation.

    Label?

You can get free software all over the web but go to avery.com and they have free software there. I use white matte labels from onlinelabels.com.
  25. Actually I have gotten alot of bad baits from the major manufactureres. It is usually nothing major, dents, excessive flashing, inconsistent colors, and deformed baits. These are things that are solved when you take pride in your work and check every bait. But it is only important when you are catching fishermen, the fish don't seem to care.
