    Shiner one piece glides

The top one is 3 3/4" long and weighs 1 ounce. The bottom one is 4 3/4" long and weighs 1.6 ounces. They have a good glide and a great wiggle on the fall like a red eye shad.
  3. The top one is 3 3/4" long and weighs 1.4 ounces. The bottom one is 4 3/4" long and weighs 2.3 ounces. They have a good glide and a great wiggle on the fall like a red eye shad.
  4. There is nothing wrong with ballasting in a bucket. The reason I ask is if he is testing the action of his bait in a small space, like a bathtub, he will never know how it actually swims. It takes a bit of space to test the action, especially on a glide bait. You can get away with a small space on some 3+ piece swimbaits but you aren't going to get away with a small space on a 2 piece glide. Hope this helps.

    PVC carved golden shiner

The fins are from a paint brush. Put them in the shape that you want and glue them in. They are not hard to do at all.

    Rats!

Those rats are looking nice Mark. The truth is I have never fished a rat bait but your baits are making me want to.
  7. If you don't mind me asking, how are you tank testing your lure?
  8. Thanks guys. It means alot.

    PVC carved golden shiner

Thanks for the compliment but trust me anyone can learn to make them.

    PVC carved golden shiner

It is nothing more than very heavy bent wire.
  11. I disagree with Rowhunter. I make and use both single and 2 piece glides and the 2 piece glides have a much better glide than the one piece glides, in my opinion. I just posted some pics in the gallery of some 2 piece glides I just finished. If I remember tomorrow I will post some pics of 4 different types of one piece glides I just finished.
  12. I just posted some more hand carved PVC swimbaits in the gallery. Tell me what you think. Does anyone have some hand carved wooden swimbaits to post pics of?
  13. This bait is 6" long and weighs 1.6 ounces and is a fast sink.
  14. This bait is 8 1/4" long and weighs 3.8 ounces. It is a very very slow sink and swims great. This picture was taken with the flash off.

  16. I am no expert but I used a light box to take pics for my website. The light box allows you to have complete control of the light. You don't have control of the light with the flash other than what direction you point it in. Do a google search and you will find a ton of info.
  17. I guess different brands have different smells but the AC1315 has way more smell than Solarez.
  18. Are you sure that is hand painted because WOW.
  19. That is why I read into every topic. I don't discourage the so called "hijacking a thread" because that is nothing more than someones creative juices flowing.
  20. I will try to answer without knowing what wood questions you are refering to. If you work with both you will find that wood and PVC are very similar as far as lure making goes. You can make the same baits and use the same equipment on both. There are some characteristic differences in the same way that there are characteristic differences between each type of wood. It is like asking a question about how you cut basswood and someone replys with an answer about how they cut cedar. PVC is changing how the garage builder makes baits and is still new for the most part so many questions will be asked especially in a post about wood because they are so similar. The best way to compare the two is to pose a question to the wood guys simply because there are more of them to make the comparison. Hope this helps.
  21. You will have to be more specific. I can't find the wood questions you are talking about.

    Rats!

That really turned out great. You nailed it with the eyes, very clever.
  23. HAHA I have seen pics of your workshop and I am sure Hoffa is in there but don't worry you aren't going to find him.
  24. Please!!!! Someone try some PVC on a lathe and let us know. I am dying to know if it will work. Again, Fredosantana, those do look good.
