Trying to locate a source for plastic clamshell for packagingl swimbaits. I saw stamina has them I was just hopeing anybody has a place to get em a little cheaper.thanks in advance

lord I hope so rayburn because such a minor thing turned into a weekend long chore. And I am very relieved I did too. Now I need to find a place online to get devcon in larger bottles than the syringe (sp)? style ..Any ideas where to go I think ill start at a local hobby store here b4 I go online and look. thx again guys..

I suggest people stay with devcon. My first batch after returning the loctite was a success.. thx everybody i think Ill just stick to what has been proven and not think all epoxy is the same..I think it was an old batch because even the epoxy i mixed on aluminum never hardened from loctite brand and the devcon hardened within 2 hours completely. thx again

Cadman, thanks I am out the door as we speak headed to get it. I will definitely get the 30 minute. I tried the 5 minute one time and it was a nightmare.. I will keep you posted, my neighbor has some devcon and I tried a small amount using the same technique for mixing and stirring and the results were awesome. Im convinced theres something wrong with this loctite batch I have. I re poured all my spinnerbait heads and re powder coated them last night, all night.lol So I think Ill just put devcon over the new batch and try it over a couple of the sticky baits too. And if it seals the sticky ones ill keep em for myself..

well the last batch I did how Rayburn guy explained and still same results . JSc I actually put the first 10 i did in the oven on 175 for an hour and it did nothing to the stickiness at all. Im headed to hardware store to make an exchange and get some devcon it has cost me alot of time trying to figure loctite out. I really appreciate all the help Ive gotten from you guys.Hope fully the devcon will be the answer.

thanks guys im having a heck of a time here lol. I tried another coat on a new jighead and same results I think its the epoxy I am headed back to the hardware store to return it. And get some loctite somewhere if I have to drive to every store in town. Ive never had a problem mixing epoxy until this brand.. I will try one more jighead as Rayburn guy suggested on can and see how it works before I do the return thing. Ill keep you all posted, Im bound and determined to get to the bottom of this ..lmao and thanks for the help guys..

thanks cadman I actually did try that on a piece of cardboard and it has remained sticky for 2 days. i did it a second time and it was sticky as well, I dont know what the heck im doing wrong? lol MY powder paint looks real good and i want to salvage it if I can..thanks to all your help with powder painting.. I have the the epoxy that you squeeze out they are both in seperate containers. And I was wondering is there a better way to measure out exact amounts? i put two small dots of each part on a cardboard about the size of a dime and thouroughly mix it turns cloudy???? is this maybe the problem? Any thoughts on how to get exact amounts of each part?, I have racked my little brain and cant figure it out? lol thanks again bud I appreciate all your help.

I am having problems with the epoxy im using staying tacky or sticky? I couldnt find devcon 2 so I bought a 9oz. bottle of hardener and the 9 oz. of resin (loctite brand professional extra time epoxy 60 min.). I have tried to top coat spinnerbaits and seal the 3d eyes with no luck. I mixed even and thourough and even tried thinning with a little denatured the second time. So I guess my question is am I using the wrong epoxy? Or what am I doing wrong. I am mixing it a piece of cardbaord and stirring with a tooth pick and applying with cheap brushes from walmart? I cant figure it out I have got 50 or 60 spinnerbaits that are sticky all gami hooks and dont want to have to waste em? please help

I am looking to buy plastic for pouring my own swimbaits I was curious to whom I should go through for the best qaulity and price? I saw a thread a while back on here with all the info but when i click on it it says " sorry this page got away from us". I will be needing to have it shipped to California.Ive looked online and just trying to get all the opinions I can before I purchase. thanks guys

thx for the reply are you talking about using the acetone or alcohol to thin the devcon?

Is there a certain ratio to mix the devcon2 with alcohol or acetone for sealing. Ive tried elmers glue and water but been reading alot about sealing with devcon using alcohol and acetone to seal the molds. I just never saw a ratio as to how much of aech part to use. And is acetone or alcohol better to use for the other part besides devcon? Any help is appreciated I have 12 molds to seal and wanted to try both methods to see which works best for me.
