I took Mark/Detroit1 fishing and this was what he gave me for appreciation.

I add some glitter to a small batch of KBS that I brush on the first coat... Then I dip the second coat or brush if need be. Rarely do I just use one coat of KBS.

I don't put it in the hook eye, But in the mold eye cavities.

BTW... No need in the groove for the insert... Just fill them flat and use insert. The rubber will allow fitment.

Most or many of my molds have the red rtv silicone in them... It works. I have been making baits for over 30 years and don't mind sharing tips and tricks. I wish others would do the same. I know that many here are holding back.

Drill out the mold the diameter of your hook eye about 1/4 inch deep on both sides... Then over fill the holes with red rtv silicone and let dry. Using a razor blade to cut off flush with the mold. Now you can pour any hook you want w/o any flash.

Anytime I use a lighter gauge wire hook and get flash in the eye, I take plumbers putty and put it into the mold cavity... It don't take much. Press it in tight. It will block the lead from going into the cavity. The hook eye presses into the putty for perfect pours. Your welcome.

Bigger blade ruin the tracking of the bait. I use #3 and smaller even on 5/8 heads.

I make and own a ton of them, But I have not done that great with them... I have caught fish, But the bait don't impress me yet!

I do this to most every do it mold I own.... I'm not a fan of them in stock form most times. Never has been a problem for me... 30 years of making baits.

I bet that hook will work, Remove wooden handles, put the hook into the mold and close. Place on concrete and hit mold with a dead blow hammer.

LPO is my favorite... I just placed another order yesterday. I used to use Janns Netcraft a lot as it is only 80 miles from my house. LPO gets it to me just as fast. Barlow's was always the slowest.

This must be new... I have ordered from them and they held the entire order because one item was out of stock... It's always the item I just added on and not even needed. So they keep my whole order suspended... This has happened several times to me. I stopped ordering from there because of it. Sometimes on line orders and sometimes phone orders and they were not up to par with knowing what is in stock "At the time" of my order... If I knew something was out of stock, I would pass... They could never tell me... I'm glad they changed.... That should help their business. They did loose mine.

These are not the light wire hooks either.... Just say'in

I don't see the price too bad at all... Take 5-6 dollars off for shipping and the hooks cost 12 cents each... Most hooks cost similar anyway. How much could you possibly save?

I turn mine after I let 10 seconds between drips fall off.... But I have let them hang w/o any trouble.

I have bought 1000 of these hooks and have not seen this on this particular style hook... Mine were all 4/0
