  1. I have done several batchs of baits... One batch did pretty good. The others were all ruined. It crackles the paint and the clear spider cracks. I tried thin coats, tried thick coats, on the turner and hang dry. It may just need to be cured with some heat as it dries. Most of mine were done in 65*-68*........... I think I'm going to save this product for concrete.

  3. I'm experimenting with the water base stuff.. I bought it at Menards as well http://sealbest.com/ultraglsseal.shtml $18 per gallon http://www.menards.com/main/building-materials/concrete-cement-masonry/concrete-sealer-repair/concrete-cleaners-sealers/sealbest-ultra-gloss-concrete-sealer/p-1462532-c-5651.htm
  4. Ummm... I came up with this on my own. Never tried any other method. What I'm doing is nothing like the old method that was posted here.
  5. I do this as a hobby... But since Shaggy is doing it for income, I refrain from spilling the beans.....
  6. I have posted pics many times here and they all get deleted... Silly rules for sure.. I have shared my technique with shaggy and find our baits look much better in the end. Also hold up better. Not bashing others at all... Too bad I cant share more as I feel like my hands are tied to a degree.
  7. Hmmmm I wonder how it's done? I dont post here much anymore as they dont allow me to post my work on a thread... Oh well.
  8. I have been using it and like the results... Watch this>>> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zZrmNjQYcdg
  9. Those look just like the first ones I posted on top....
  10. Thank you for saving me the trouble...
  11. I was gonna buy some BBZ's and repaint, But I cant get my wallet out for that. And those are about as affordable as they come. e-mail me if you have something I might be interested in.. 21xdcbullet at att dot net
  12. This is what I was afraid of... Open to other suggestions. I dont want to make molds etc... Looking for a pre made bait I can paint.
  13. Are you calling the 4 inch one I posted a BBZ copy? I might try some if they are.
  14. http://cgi.ebay.com/3-Jointed-...e0e1f Something like this w/o the rubber tail. 4-7 inchs would be fine... How do you clear these and keep the joints free? Rubber bands? Take them apart? Do these baits swim? How about these>> http://cgi.ebay.com/5-Jointed-...92d74
  15. I was not successfull with making bristle fins for the ms slammer... So I made some clacker tails, painted and epoxied them. They have some transparency to them. I might make some more from lexan.
  16. This is a popular one http://www.tnfish.org/PhotoGalleryFish_TWRA/FishPhotoGallery_TWRA/TWRAFishPhotoGallery.htm
  17. Hmmm. I thought it was gone... I just shouted in there myself.. Echo.

  18. I miss the chat room

  19. I'm gonna paint it to "Match" the bait...
  20. If you like that... Maybe you will like this. I google image http://www.google.com/imghp?hl=en&tab=wi Crappie, bluegill, etc and look for a pic I like best. Then use the ctrl and scroll on my mouse to size the pic to the bait size I'm gonna paint. I use the eye and tail as a reference. Then I tape my clear sheet on the puter screen, Mark with a sharpie the eye and tail center. Then mark all the stuff I want to paint. Dremmel out the marks and leave the eye and tail marks. Then I put the stencil on the bait lining up the eye and tail... Shoot the paint and I get the real deal.
  21. I make stencils from clear plastic sheets like transparencies or folder covers from Office Max. They sell them at the print desk in single sheets cheap. Then I use a dremel tool and diamond cone bit to cut them out. The strait line I have used the exacto knife and ruler.
  22. I had a bag of 100 buck tails, I threw them all out as they were starting to stink. I want paint brush bristles guys.... There are many kinds ofcoarse... Wanting black as well.
  23. I'll be painting mine to match the bait and epoxy clear coating. I think the wood might work best. There is another bait called a "woodtail" thats similar to the MS Slammer.
