  1. Something like these.. Be sure to zoom in on the pics. http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_10206743____SearchResults http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_10205000____SearchResults http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_15653____SearchResults
  2. The link is 7 strand X 7 strand... That is alot more flexible than 1 X 7 strand. I'm trying to get the smallest in diameter as some of these will go into a 1/32 oz head. So I'm looking for a thinner stiffer piece thats non coated I think. I have seen some jigs on the market with uncoated ss weed gaurds, I dont have any at hand to play with right now. I want a single weed gaurd if possible. I dont want to have to buy a pack of all of these to find out, So please save me the money. What one of these?>>> http://www.jannsnetcraft.com/ss-lure-making-wire/311665.aspx 90 lb seems to be what many are using after I did some searching around.
  3. Or maybe a single strand spring type ss wire? Looking for some other ideas.. I dont want to use the fiber gaurd material.
  4. OK, Looking for advice on what lb stainless steel leader material to use as a weedgaurd for building 1/16 to 1/8 oz bass jigs. it will only be 3/4 of an inch long. I need it flexible but stiff enough to help keep weeds off the light wire 3.0 hook. I looked in a hobby Lobby today in the jewly making section as they offer many stranded ss wire and they were all too weak of my needs. Do you think 60 lb test in this will be too stiff or not enough? The stuff at Hobby Lobby was 26lb I think. I'd like it in green or brown. I'm thinking I want the 7 strand uncoated 60 lb... Gimme your thoughts please.. http://www.jannsnetcraft.com/afw-leader-wire/311669.aspx
  5. I have fished with Jonathan Newton in Michigan Lk StClair... No crankbaits were thrown.
  6. I go to the dollar store and buy combs and hair pics, they work great.. Many different ones to chose from.
  7. I had a nurse friend get me some 60cc syringes to put my etex into. I mix perfect batches every time.I reccomend this method for all epoxies. Mixing fully is a huge key.
  8. Not worth cleaning the brushes in my opinion. I buy cheap brushs and just throw them out. But you can use acetone to clean them before they fully sets/cures. I use a 2 rpm motor and get good results.
  9. I have used this site for a while to print out pics and take to the paint store. I match up the colors I need to duplicate my copy cat cranks/ topwaters etc.. Many good pics to chose from... Some may have seen/used these before. Maybe someone will pin a post of it so it's readily avaiable to all.... http://www.tnfish.org/PhotoGalleryFish_TWRA/FishPhotoGallery_TWRA/TWRAFishPhotoGallery.htm http://www.tnfish.org/FishIdentificationID_TWRA/FishKey.htm
  10. I took a nail set center punch and whacked a couple/few dimples into the square rod. Now it fits snug into the motor cavity. The gears in the rotisserie gear box still has some slop. Making the weight near equal helps alot.
  11. I use it and it's all pour on.
  12. I have been using safetywire twister pliers for 20+ years. I use the 6 inch models in manual only. The auto or spring return is no good for the light gauge wire we use. I use 24 gauge but 20-22 is better for a beginner to start off with. Milbar and armstrong are the brands that I use. My first pair was matco.
  13. I just bought 1 yard of "mesh" from JoAnnes in the "utility fabric" isle today. Looks like what I wanted, Maybe a touch big on the holes, But time will tell.
  14. Here are a couple of baby zaras I did long ago with a shelf material. I could do alot better now with it. It's griprite non slip liner made by kittrich. I bought it at the dollar store. http://www.kittrich.com/houseware.html
  15. Thats what I use... I'm looking for the minnow net material with circle holes that cover up more of the bait and let less paint through.
  16. OK, I looked it up... I see many different kinds. Not sure what one you use. Can you post a close up pic of the material and a bait you did with it? Pretty please?
  17. OK, I have used many materials for painting scales. Tule, wedding veil in several sizes etc. I found some minnow net material in a large piece, Unfortunatly it was inside my boys swim suit. Where can you buy this in bulk or by the yard? Someone sells it. What is the actual name of the material? I know how to google. Mike
  18. These are hilarious, Just thought you guys would get a kick out of it. Please dont hurt yourself trying this at home. http://www.youtube.com/user/StrikeKingLure#p/u
  19. Trust me, I mix perfect parts A and B... I use 60cc syringes and watch closely. My mix gets hard w/o any soft or gooey spots. I think the recipe has changed since I used it a couple years ago. I just may be willing to sell it off and go back to E-Tex lite.
  20. I have used both, But I have been using E-Tex for the last few years. I just tried D2T again tonight and the working time is way too short per mix. I have had plenty of time with the E-tex and they are both 30 min cure times. Do I use laquer thinner to prolong the time? I just bought 4 big bottles and think I'm going back to E-Tex. I mixed for 2 min, I wonder if over mixing shortens the workingtime.
  21. I may make a few others. Trying 1/4 in and 3/8 in dowels and smaller hose. May even work better as the smaller dowels are easier to hold and work with as your painting/clearing. Can even get more on per pipe if you wanted.
  22. I really doubt it. The hose grabs it real well on it's own, and the screw in the middle makes the hose pinch tight. If it ever did loose it's grab, For $5 I put new hose on. The reason I did this is I like to be able to paint, clear, remove and replace the baits while are spinning with ease You could make the pvc longer or add more hose in between the other hose at 90* and put several hundred on at once.
  23. Instead of dripping off the excess clear, Rotating gives a better "one" coat..
  24. I like the flat eye mustad round bend in a 3/0. Can be bought at JannsNetcraft, Barlows tackle, Staminainc.com many places.
  25. Stealing it from me is my pleasure. The best form of flattery. Worked great...
