  1. Only one good way. Cut the strips 1/2 inch longer than you want them. Tie with 20-24 gauge copper craft wire wrapped only twice pulled tight, twisted and cut off tag end. Hold the bait in a vice and pull the 1 inch strip into 3-4 strands. Then stretch out the rubber as much as you can take and cut with dull scissors close to your fingers. You will end up getting very fast doing this. I have tied many of thousands. I used to buy 4-7K dollars worth at a time, 150 lbs each color in special run colors including glow in the dark.
  2. I use a super cheap one and it does a fine job for me. - Harbor Freight Tools - Quality Tools at the Lowest Prices http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e102/21xdc/Bluegill003.jpg http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e102/21xdc/SuperGeorgesBayouBoogies001.jpg http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e102/21xdc/Perchthunderstickjrs002.jpg http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e102/21xdc/BabyZara001.jpg
  3. I have an acct at Sherwin Williams and my cost was also $58.00 a gal, Normally $81.00. I asked for a sample or smaller quanity, but it's not offered in smaller than 1 gal at a time. I stopped in the store today and they said it probably won't hold up to a lures enviroment. I passed on trying it for now.
  4. When you clearcoat the chrome paint, It dulls out. How about brushing on epoxy and dipping into ultra fine silver glitter and after it dries, Coat with epoxy again? Looks great.
  5. I have poured hundreds and thousands w/o any trouble. Drill deep and fill over full. Let it get hard and razor blade it flush with the mold. Simply works great.
  6. I use this with good success.. 74 colors and 50 cents a bottle. http://www.michaels.com/art/on...p0229
  7. Poor fish... Nice work..
  8. Depending on the hook and how much bigger the wire size is, I have been able to put the bigger hook in and slam the mold closed and make it happen. Along with some dremmel work. I drill out the eyelet area deep and fill full of permatex ultra copper high temp silicone. Then the mold can take a flat eye, reg, and many others.
  9. I have tied with 24 gauge copper craft wire for 20 years and have not found anything better. If you are new at this, I suggest 20-22 gauge wire. The key is only wrap the wire twice around the bait. Do not use the twisting method to tighten, You pull the tag ends to tighten and then twist to keep it there. I use manual safty wire twister pliers to do the job. Small vice grips will work ok. Cut off the tag ends and bend it over.
  10. I use pin curl clips. 80 of them for 2-3 bucks at the beauty supply. I bend/break off the legs short. Makes for a small, lightweight but strong hold. Works awesome.
  11. Got the PM.. I'll see if I even have any 90* hooks. If you have some, You can send them to me and I'll pour what you send unless you send thick saltwater hooks. You have my tele.. Call me. Mike
  12. I don't normally sell them. What hooks and size were you wanting? Where do you live? Shipping might cost more than the jigs. Call me if you like. 1-734-728-6145 SE Michigan is where I live.
  13. This football takes a 90* hook >> Do-it Molds: Football Jig Mold BTW... I own one of these.

  16. I bought mine at Meijer also... 2 rpms works great for me. Quiet too. Switch and plug already attached.
  17. WalMarts is a seasonal item. They had none when I went there. They should be getting some in soon for the season. Mine is a "Universal" rotissorie. It 2 rpms and works just fine. Maybe a faster one would be better, But have seen no issures at 2 rpms. Did you time/count yours running?
  18. Wouldn't a football head do the same thing?

    Bending Hooks

I have bent many owner spinnerbait hooks with about a 20* angle leg to fit in my jig molds that take 28*-30* hooks. I snapped off 1 out of 10. But I liked the hooks "That much"
