I have heard of it before. Seems a bit pricey and real thin coverage. Buy Online & Save. Factory Paint Store
  3. When I called them to speak to a product knowledge specialist, They also reccomended the EX-74 but said it is not as hard as the crystal sheen. Also you have to buy that by the gallon. They reccomended me to try the Easy Cast. I have not gotten around to it, But I will. They did say that the crystal sheen has more tendency to yellow some. I have not seen this. The pot life is longer with easy cast. Environmental Technology Inc.
  4. Well, I mixed up a batch and applied it to two baits. They finished OK with some bubbling that I had to work out of them. It dried crystal clear in an hour or two. The batch has still not even firmed up and is all milky looking. Even after 2 days. Looks like I'll be sticking to my crystal shene or devcon 2 ton. Although the brushs did clean up easily with water...
  5. I have seen quite the opposite more often. You see a ton of fish feeding on the surface and you throw in and get nothing. Having bass in aquariums for many years taught me alot more than guessing..
  6. OK... Bass will eat crayfish, minnows, mice, frogs, birds, dragon flies, snakes, worms, bluegill, perch, baby bass, etc... Yet they will eat a "Blue glitter brush hog" that looks like nothing ever! They will eat anything, even a shoelace with a hook. They will eat everything that bass pro shops sell, plus shoelaces.. Some try too hard to just catch a fish... It's not that hard. Ever notice that in a tornament that 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place with weights very close to eachother are always caught 3 different ways, in 3 different areas, 3 different depths, 3 different lures,3 different colors at 3 different times? Just keeping it real guys.. Something to think about.
  7. Cool bait.... Talk about line twist!
  8. Big fish like easy meals... They won't exert alot of energy for a small meal and a tough chase. The pay off is not worth it. Therefore the wounded is not the best way to get bit. The slower realistic presentation is where it is at. Just like a big jig is known for cathing big bass. Easy meal for less effort. Not because it looks injured. Mike PS... I am a tournament bass fisherman of 28 years with a good history of success. Trying to be somewhat humble.. LOL
  9. From my experience in having bass and pike in aquariums. When they were hungry and I dumped the feeders in they ate the first available and kept gorging untill they could not fit any more in their belly but still had them sticking out of their mouth. Ever catch a fish with bait still sticking out of their throat? But when they were not hungry and had plenty of feeders in the tank, The last feeders left were the wounded or dying ones... I don't think fish eat the wounded bait first in a lake. I think they are oportunistic feeders since they don't have scheduled meals like we all do. I think a natural looking bait gets bit because thats what they eat every day from fry to adult sizes. The key is throwing the bait where the fish live.
  10. I recieved the product today... Now I just have to test it.

This is what I use. I know it's not the best, But it's way better than a rattle can for me and I can mix colors easily. Harbor Freight Tools - Quality Tools at the Lowest Prices
  13. Practice, practice. I use The Beadery 24 gauge copper craft wire, But 22 is fine too. Comes in many colors. Wrapping twice is the key to a nice finish. Pulling the tag ends is more important than the twisting as far as getting it tight. I use the manual safty wire twister pliers and it's an awesome tool to have for this. Do not use the auto or spring return.. Tapered Nose - 6" Long MILBAR SAFETY WIRE TWISTERS from Aircraft Spruce
  14. I have tried all of the E-Tex products and think I like the Crystal Sheen the best.... What do you guys think about it? Environmental Technology Inc. http://www.creative-wholesale.com/Crystal%20Sheen.html http://www.creative-wholesale.com/Envirotex%20Lite.htm
  15. I always dipped using this paint. It is important to use their white as a base coat/primer. Then dip the color after it dries/sets up good... Then dip in their clear. Either use a drying wheel or let it drip off real good and before too long bump the bottom of the bait to get the excess off. I used a 2X4 and copper plumbing insulation wrapped over it to stick my hooks in to get the disired angle of drip I wanted. I cleaned off the eyelets before it was too hard. http://www.csipaint.com/instructions/techniques-instructions/applying-vinyl-paint.asp http://www.csipaint.com/index.asp
  16. Not sure if you guys knew this. It's something that they offer that is not on their web site. Jig & Lure Paint Supplier to the Fishing Tackle Industry - CS Coatings Mike the paint chemist talked with me about alot of different options for my needs. He is sending me a free sample to play with. It's a 2:1 mixture that cleans up with water. Might be an option for the airbrush guys for easy clean up and not solvent based. Just thought I'd pass this on.... Mike

  23. After getting some good ideas here, I made one. Sorry for the bad pic.. It's a 2 rpm rotisserie gill motor, square shaft hammered into a round hole through 2X4, cut square. Velcro on the wood and soft side velcro on the hobby knife. This allows me to hold, paint, clear coat and just stick it on the wheel as I go.
