  1. It's amazing... I see guys complaining that the BT injectors are too thick and too hard to heat up, then they praise the do-it injectors because they cool off so quickly LOL. I have never had to preheat my molds or injectors (although I don't shoot baits in temps lower than 35 degrees) and have found that the BT injectors warm up after 2 or 3 shots and stay nice and warm (because of the thick material). Maybe someone could explain to me why they think the locking tip is a bad thing?
  2. I prefer the bass tackle injector, but any of the ones with a locking pin to hold the tip on are good.
  3. John Coyle at MGM was a good friend of mine. You could also add Arnold Fancelli at Mother's Finest to that list.
  4. You can do it either way. I prefer to use the lam plate (I've done both ways) because you get single color sprues that you can reuse and it keeps the lines cleaner.
  5. I'm pretty sure that bait is from a BT 544 mold. Here's one from my mold.

    Ultra Molds

Couldn't agree more! Never had anything but outstanding service from Ultra Molds.
  7. Lots of machine time cutting those thin ribs...
  8. See how many you can make with a cup and multiply by 16. That will get you close, although the actual number will be a little higher.

  10. That looks like a worm Barry Ng of Rainbow Worms up in Redding, Ca pours. He calls it "the ugly worm". I think I still have some somewhere in the shop.
  11. I have the BTS 635, which is 3.5 inches and it swims well at slow speeds on an 1/8 oz head.
  12. I just give the o rings a wipe with worm oil. Seems to work so far...
  13. Don't you think you should try them first?
  14. Maybe this should be debated on a machinists forum. Folks here are more concerned with the glue to water ratio to seal a pop mold...
  15. You're right Dave! My memory (or what's left of it) got them all crossed up. It was the poly one from Del that gave me fits. I used Chemionics when Bear was selling it and really liked it.
  16. I tried a couple gallons when Del was selling it and it didn't work well for me.
  17. If some company had sand blasted their molds and introduced a "new textured, lifelike finish" and then some well known pro had won a major tournament on it, guys would be finding ways to rough up their molds and we wouldn't be having this discussion... LOL
  18. Is Kevin or Bob having a Black Friday sale? I thought I saw an email about it, but now I can't find it.
  19. Are you sure that grub is a yamamoto? I've never seen one of theirs with that much flash on it.
  20. Or you can tie the two ends down right behind the eye with the kink away from the hookpoint and have one like the gamakatsu wide gap finesse weedless hooks.
  21. Did you mean "per 4 oz"?
  22. Try Do-it's x2 blue flek 2
  23. Anise is a plant, similar to parsley. It has a very strong licorice smell and has been a very popular fish attractant for a long time. The original Fish Formula II had a slight anise smell. I use it in a lot of baits and like every other scent, I can't say if it makes a definite difference, but I know for sure it doesn't hurt.
  24. I may try the doubled weed guard, to see if it's flexible enough to let the plastic bait pass without gouging a huge hole. It is...
