  1. If you're going to use a Lee pot, use the right one. It can be tricky to keep your plastic right in a plastic pot, putting plastic in a lead pot is a recipe for disaster. If I remember correctly from discussing the differences with the folks at Lee, the main differences are a plastic pot has a 220v lead pot coil running at 110v, the crucible is spaced farther from the stand (less heat on the thermostat) and has a modified thermostat.
  2. I had some jigs hanging that I had cast, powder coated and cured with the teflon pins in them. I pulled the teflon pins and checked the hole with the 1/8 metal pin that came with the mold. The metal pin was pretty loose in the hole, so I don't think the teflon pins are undersize. Maybe I just got a bad run of FG-30s (2 different colors in the last order though). I'll have to dig around the shop and see if I have any old ones to try.
  3. Smalljaw... I'm casting, powder coating and curing the jigs with the teflon pins in. I might also try taking a few strands off and going up in stiffness as suggested by cadman. It would be nice though if the 1/8 weedguard would fit in the 1/8 hole without modding something LOL
  4. Yes, the Yammamoto ones were called twin ts (I still have a few bags). The twin ts were double skirts though, those are singles. There are a couple mold makers that make that skirt in one variation or another.
  5. Only problem with that is the tend to fall apart if you even squeeze them a little too much. I may try runninfg a 9/64 drill bit into the hole first. I only do 10 - 20 at a time for personal use.
  6. Will the 5/32 teflon hole pins work in a mold that uses the FG-30 weed guards? I'm currently using the 1/8 teflon pins in my football jig mold, but it's so hard to get the weed guards in that I end out drilling the hole out a little. Any help or ideas appreciated.
  7. Here's a link to Frank's videos on Youtube http://www.youtube.com/user/franksrooty2?feature=results_main
  8. I didn't mean that the way it sounded... I think it's cool that you took the time to put it together and are willing to share it.
  9. I think maybe you should just make it available to everyone. It's not like they're your recipes, just one's you've compiled. The fact that 2 posts down you're asking for a recipe would seem to back that up. JMHO

    Mold

Just post them in the soft plastic cookbook pinned at the op of this forum.
  11. I saw on his eBay ad that you need to use some sort of release agent with his molds. Is this the case?
  12. Sometimes heating them a little in the microwave (be sure to loosen the cap first) will help them mix better too.
  13. You can use it, no problem at all. There are better suppliers of colorant though.
  14. It is a laminate. The back is watermelon with red and gold. The belly is sort of a red with a brown tint with red and black flake (same as the arms and claws in the picture).
  15. Has anyone had any luck getting the red/brown color for Strike King's falcon lake craw figured out? I've been trying to get it but just can't seem to even get close.
  16. I've been able to get really close with M-F cinnamon.
  17. Do a search in this forum for "laminate" and you'll find tons of info. Check the soft plastic section of the "How to" section as well.
  18. I know the guy who makes them (he lives in the next town). IM me your email address and I'll forward it to him.

  20. The 605 http://www.basstackle.com/605swimbait_p/605-2-1.htm and the 4" BT swim http://www.basstackle.com/BT_Swim_Bait_Mold_4_p/btswimmold4.htm
  21. I'm waiting for a sample from BT on the one I'm looking at. They need to wait for someone to order a mold before they can make me a sample.
  22. Looking for some 4" or 5" top pour swimbait molds similar to an Osprey. Does anyone know who makes one besides BT? (No problem with BT, just looking for more options)
  23. We're still waiting Cormorant, you must work loooonnnngggggggggg shifts
  24. So it's DINP not DIMP. Good thing because when I looked up DIMP there was a reference to it being used in the production of sarin nerve gas. Talk about bad fumes! Where is DINP available in small quantities or is there anything else that would work for thinning a few colorants that seem to have thickened up some.
