  3. What is the clear dip plastic used for bastrix type of baits? Where can I order?
  4. Thanks Guys... Vodkaman, your calculation spreadsheet sounds very interesting. I'll send you my email addy. I am working on my first bait. It is a swim bait, bluegill. Body is about 6". It is in 2 halves now and will have 2 sections. Tail section is already cut. Still working on the fins. Ribbed and flexible. I want to add weight before I glue the 2 halves together so I want to calculate the amount needed as close as possible. http://i237.photobucket.com/albums/ff239/dougl58/My%20Swim%20Baits/DSC01274.jpg http://i237.photobucket.com/albums/ff239/dougl58/My%20Swim%20Baits/DSC01260.jpg http://i237.photobucket.com/albums/ff239/dougl58/My%20Swim%20Baits/DSC01351.jpg http://i237.photobucket.com/albums/ff239/dougl58/My%20Swim%20Baits/DSC01352.jpg http://i237.photobucket.com/albums/ff239/dougl58/My%20Swim%20Baits/DSC01354.jpg http://i237.photobucket.com/albums/ff239/dougl58/My%20Swim%20Baits/DSC01353.jpg
  5. I would like to estimate the amount of weight needed for a 2 piece balsa bait. I want to place weights in the body prior to closing up. How can I do this with the wood unfinished?

Yah, with my equipment addiction and actually fishing I’m sure the wife and kids will understand me placing what remaining time I have into another hobby. Did I mention I am also thinking about trying my hand at rod building?

I posted that thread in TT. There was another thread about posting pics of the best looking baits you had ever seen. When I posted pics of John's there I received several requests of where to get them so I put him up in the Swimbait section. I found John's baits one day and had to order a few! I am a newbe here and I am so impressed with everyone’s work! I have the urge to try my hand now.
  17. I have done business with Mike's Reel Repair several times. Each time it has taken a long time to get my order but each time I have received what I ordered. Not the best on communicating but good pricing.
  18. Just an added note.. I just had a batch that set up in about 5 min. Don't know why. My others have always been fine. Next batch was fine.??? What gives? Did some 5 min epoxy get miss-packaged?
