  1. Hey Guys, I did not mean to start an argument I just wanted to buy a trick worm mold. Sorry I asked.
  2. Hey Guys, I'm thinking of buying the 6" flat belly finesse worm from Bear Baits. How close is it to a trick worm? i have the 4.5' but I heard that the 6" was cut different. Can anyone tell me what the difference is? THNX NAV
  3. Sims, Thanks for the #. just got off the phone with the owner. good lookin out.
  4. Simsbaits, Thanks for your reply, Did you have a web address or phone # for git bit baits?
  5. Hey guys, Does anyone know If get bit baits are still around, left a few Emails but no response. I had some 4" tubes from them that had skirt strands in them. I know I can do that to any tube myself but they had a color called leach that I wanted to duplicate. If anyone has a alternate email address or a phone #, I would greatly appriate it.
  6. Hey Bassman, There are a few on some of the site but they do not have the the same action (IMHO), so I made one out of silicon, If you take your time ( it took me three tries),you can get the mold almost completely round. Mine is 6 cavities with a hook slot. Check out Longhorn's (Master Yoda,LOL) tutorial on making mold boxes for silicone, Sorry I can't show a pic because my camera on the fritz.
  7. Bearbaits sells a 10.5" full round worm and a flat bottom worm. I use the 4.5" and 6" for dropshoting and the 8" for shakey heads (flat), Del also carries a 10" forked tail worm that is good also. try it with a punch skirt in the grass. It works wonders here on the Potomac river.
  8. @Frank, I was wondering which baits caney creek does not work well with pouring I'am in the process of switching from lc to caney creek.
  9. Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone made a spray paint for plastics. I going to make a mold for swimbaits and wanted to make them look real. Spike it makes a dye that can be sprayed but I think paint would work better. What do you guys think. Thx NAV
  10. I think I have decided on the 709 and 3.75, Think I better buy both, just to be on the safe side. Hey does anyone know how to make a bait more opaque.
  11. Hey Guys, I'm looking to buy a craw mold, I was looking at basstackles 709, 705, and the 3.75 craw. Which do you prefer.
  12. Hey Frank, If you take a look at the first pic, the amber did seem to bleed over the green. I think that was the sluggishness I talked about earlier. used the worm oil and it seem to work better. Thanks for your help. Nav.
  13. Okay let's try this again The green is the top color and the amber pepper is the bottom, I will be replacing the black flake with christmas tree and gold.
  14. Hey Frank cant get the pics to upload will try later
  15. Oops, Almost forgot, when using laminate is there a ratio for the colors, Some of my color seem to dominate the other (watermelon on top, amber brown on the bottom). The watermelon seems to be more pronounced than the amber. I will be using these colrs for my Camo. will place in the colorbook when it is spot on.. So should I make the the amber darker? or the watermelon lighter.
  16. Just received my twin-injector (3 days from AZ to MD plus free shipping). The unit seems to be a bit sluggish do I need to grease it or I/m I doing something wrong. If it is grease what type do I use. BTW worm came out great. No pics my camera to a powder on me yesterday while fishing.
  17. The Home Depot in my area carries the Klean Strip brand (pint and gal. sizes)
  18. I take a box and lay it on its side, place the mold in the box on a rib rack ($2.00 at big lots). Then I use a small desk fan on med. 1.5 hours later, its ready to pour (no peeling of the sealer).
  19. Thanks Frank, Can't wait to get my injector will drop a pic when I get it.
  20. Hey Frank, Here is a pic of the 8" forktail, tried to pour by hand but it looked pretty bad so I just poured both colors. Oh yeah, about the split tail are you saying that each fork will have a different color or will both forks split the two colors.
  21. Thanks Frank, checked out your vid on you tube. You make it look very easy. I will be using an 8" forktail from Del. By the way I was incorrect when I said I would be using Bears injector, I will be buying the one from Basstackle. @SHK--- thanks for the response, I wanted something just a little different and I thought black grape would stand out a little more. Liver is a color I came up with when I first started pouring about a year ago it was going to be blue fleck but I was a little off. But i thougtht the color would be good on the Potomac, so I tried it out and now I throw it alot
  22. Hey Guys, I was wondering if you can use Bear twin Injector to pour into multi-cavity mold. I'm trying to make my own red shad (black grape on the top and liver on the bottom), I've seen it used on single cavity molds but never on multi units. I was hoping I didn't have to hand pour the top then inject the bottom. Thnx NAV.
  23. Hey guys, I was watching and old In-Fisherman video (VCR), and Al Linnder was using a Berkley sandworm as a jig trailer. I was wondering if anyone has a mold or any of the baits or could tell me were I could get them. Iknow berkley has them in the gulp line but they arn't the same. Thanks NAV.
  24. Hey guys has anyone seen the new super crosstail shad. Just ordered them. take a look at these
  25. Squidduck, Before you go straight to Rtv, give the POP a try, I have been pouring for less than a year and most of my molds are made out of Pop (USG MOLDING PLASTER). It is more forgiving and with a dremel tool you can correct more mistakes than you can with RTV. I use Lurecraft 502 regular plastic and their colorants and glitter. I will be purchasing some softner for making stiks but normallly I don't use it. I started out with DAP plaster of paris but now use USG moulding plaster (www.plaster.com), it has more set up time than regular POP. Give it a try you will make mistakes but hang in there and keep trying. I enjoy making mold more than pouring the plastic. Check out Longhorns tutorial on making POP molds. It helped me out alot and ask as many question as needed. the guys on this site have a wealth of knowlege and are willing to share it. Just remember its all about having fun.
