  1. For those of you who pour for yourself and friends; how many colors of a mold lure do you carry when fishing? I find myself carrying ten to twelve colors of the same worm or swimbait! And I'm always looking for other colors to make. Just wondering what you limit yourself to when fishing.
  2. When you tested it did you have the hooks and split rings on it? Makes a big difference, also sometimes adding a little soder wire around the belly hook will cut down on the wobble.
  3. What I have found that works is to turn your heat gun on and lay it on its side. Then pull the injector handle all the way back and lay the injector in front of the heat gun with the injector head slightly inside the heat gun head. This will blow hot air all the way up inside the injector. Warm your mold up on the hotplate and get your plastic ready. Push the injector handle down and pull in the hot plastic and inject the mold! Works like a charm for me.
  4. I also like to pour Bears mold without the insert: then I cut the tail off; leave it in the mold and repour the top half with a different color. I like to make thw tail chartruse halo and the new body; ghost minnow.
  5. Just for a good laugh, there's a tool just like that that farmers use for docking sheep's tais and also nutering farm animals! Just snap the rubber off on the private parts, it cuts off the blood supply and they fall off in three or four days! No blood or anything. They use larger rubbers than what we use and it won't woork for skirts!
  6. After you make your skirt with the small rubber bands; how do you get it on the skirt umbrellas? It's hard to reopen it and get the plastic strands redistributed around the umbrella without breaking it. Any ideas? I get the umbrellas from Barlows.
  7. Also if they had a pointed spout so you could pour a smaller stream.
  8. OK so that means I have two more molds to buy!
  9. Very nice, will this also work in small multi cavity crappie molds? (Thinking twister molds)?

    Popper

Nice lures, What's the best way to coat two ton on the poper mouth? Won't the two ton fill in the hollow mouth?
  11. Has anybody used the new vein powder from Columbia Coatings? It looks good in the pictures, wondering how it really is.
  12. Sorry, I missed it. I'll watch closer next year.
  13. I just tried it and got three out of five perfect! Now Im spending more time pouring baits than I am fishing. Lets see thats around another 100 color combinations I can add to my tacklebox! My wife says I need another boat to haul my tackle in
  14. Ive seen on some mold sellers that they pour tails, let them harden, then pour the worm a different color and I want to be sure I got this right. I have a Charlie Brewer type of worm mold (two piece). I want to pour the worms about half way, let them harden, open the mold and cut them off with a exacto knife, fit the tais back in the mold, close it up and top the rest of the mold off with adifferent color. Have I got this right? So I can make black wormw with pink tails?

    Glitter ?

Sam's website says his glitter will bleed at 300 degrees? My plastic is always hotter than this, I like it at about 350. So, is it true it will bleed? Never have any trouble with Lurecraft.
  16. Another thing that might work for you is to use a split ring of the proper size to fit the worm.. Put this in the center of the worm, then put your hook through the split ring; not the worm. I use this on senko's and wacky rigs.
  17. Thanks Frank, Ive been using a Bears injector, just trying to hold it level and tight over the Jacobs small hole in the mold. The trouble with this is that when you get to the end of the injection material the head of the bears injector will pop off! What a mess!! I will definitly buy one of jacobs new ones.
  18. I see Jacobs has a new injector. I have a old one and have trouble with the plastic cooling and hardening in the nozzle tip before I can inject it. Im wondering if the new injector has a larger opening at the nozzle? Maybe I should buy his adapter and use a bears injector. I really like his crappie molds. He has some of the best panfish molds on the market. Currently I heat the injector nozzle over a heat gun, heat the molds on a hot plate. When the plastic is ready I put the injector nozzle in the mold, pour the plastic in the top, add the plunger on and quickly inject. Very easy to get burned with hot plastic, wear gloves but I think you know what I mean.
  19. It would be great if you could post the dates and give us a map of where to go. Also maybe the closest hotels. Maybe some of the site sponsors could donate some items for a auction. I'll bet you will be surprised how many will attend with advance notice.
  20. I powder paint, then bakeit, add any tape or eyes, then dip it in Dick Nite and hang to dry. Make sure its cool from baking before adding your tape.
  21. Thanks for all the information. Those baits are teriffic. Something else for me to try!
  22. Super paint job and thanks for the info. I only live a hour's drive from LC. Im going to have to run over their and check that paint out. A little scared to use it in my good Badger airbrush. but will give something a try.
  23. Frank, could you give us your painting procedure? Do you use a brush, airbrush or what? How much thinner do you use in the paint?
  24. The reason ESPN won't cancel Bassmasters is because they own it! True.
  25. If we bought real ones we'd have to ship them to you to have them repainted LOL1!!!
