  1. Thanks for the information guys. I'm going to go ahead and buy a pint. Don't know the effect it has on plastic.
  2. I can say this, I've bought several molds from him and intend to buy several more in the future. His molds are top of the line. Definitely one of the top mold makers!
  3. Depends on the heat tolerance. Remember your plastic is up around 350 degrees. Some glitter will melt and glob up. Better to use the stuff made for plastics. On another note, I have been using powder paint in my plastic to get some neat colors; like magic craw, reptile, black green pearl, new penny, etc. The trick ia to mix it in your cold plastic before warming it up.
  4. Anyone use this as a top coat? I use it to dip my jigheads in (helps hold the eyes on) I know a couple of people who use it as a top coat on their spray painted plugs and swear by it. They say, no hook rash or cracks after using it. Just wondering if anyone else uses it. By the way it's sold by Lurepartsonline.com
  5. Sorry should have said beavertail. What everyone calls a paddletail, I call a boottail.
  6. Enforcerbaitmolds.com has three models of paddletails for steelhead. 3,4, and 5 inches. Out of Canada, but drives across border to ship to United States.
  7. I would be interested in a wire form for chatterbaits; like walking dead said. Hook the wire and hook in the jighead. Then after jig is made, hook into the chatterbait and close the end. As far as the herring head, mu wires face backwards also and I have had no trouble with the blades coming off. I pour a small thump grub for the body, lots of action.
  8. Just got my new 2016 Lurepartsonline & AnglersWorkshop catalog and it is super! Anything and everything for lure building. Nice to have for reference. If you guys don't get one, be sure to ask for one from the site, this is a winner.
  9. I got a old tackle box with about 50 jars of pork baits in it. I'd better keep them, could be worth something in the future!
  10. Try mooreslures.com Page 27 of their catalog. They have tallywacker tails and Teaser tails. Not sure how big you want.
  11. Does it have to be exactly 4 inches? BassTackle has a ton of swimbait molds from 3 1/2 to 4 1/2.
  12. No one mentioned Grape, or Black Grape. This was my go to ,colors fishing tournments back in the 70's. LOL
  13. Jacobs will have a big sale starting the 27 through the 4th. 25% off all plastic molds!
  14. Go to Bassmaster.com and look for Birth of a crank bait. Love pictures like this, showing work shops.
  15. One other thing I do is use two injectors. Fill one injector, shoot a bunch of molds, lay it down, pick up the second injector and shoot a bunch more molds! Then clean up both injectors while your waiting to demold.
  16. Lurecraft has a open pour mold like that. It's number 1007. If you go to their catalog the number is 5x1007
  17. I e-mailed I Spike It and they said to wipe the baits down with acetone. So that's what I will try. Thanks guys for reminding me to call them.
  18. When you take some of the plastic baits out of the bag; they are oiley. Should I clean or just wipe them down before painting. (Using I spike It CO2)
  19. Has anyone used this material for making molds ? I saw this stuff on Make a lure. It's used for making the molds, not plastic baits.
  20. Leave the belly and or tail color in. (Want to leave the sprue open) Then inject your second color (top and head)
  21. Clearcoat the joints first with a brush, then dip the blank. Once they start to chip, from use, you may have to clearcoat again.
  22. Jacobsbaits.com has a five inch mold. Take a look at it.
  23. Thanks, I'll be watching for it. He has a new mold out that looks great-- 3.5 Hellgramite
  24. I'm surprised that no one is having a July 4 sale? Or have I missed someone? Anyone see a sale on line?
