  1. My needle is a .035. Maybe I just need to clean it better. There is a adjustment on the back of the needle that you can use to determine how far the needle sets in the airbrush.
  2. I have a iwana eclipse HP-BS airbrush which I tore apart and gave a good cleaning. Now I'm having a hard time getting it adjusted to spray the paint. Im thinking I may have got the needle to far in. If I back the needle out a bit that should let more paint through? One thing I found out- if you increase the air pressure and get the airbrush to close to the lure, it will blow the paint off the lure! LOL Any advice you guys could give me? Also some paint colors won't flow very well unless you add reducer and sometimes it's watered down to much. I usually use Createx at about 15 to 20 pounds of pressure. I also have some Wicked colors that I'm trying to use.
  3. Btsmolds.com has the 702 mold and a new one. It's a copy of the 702 in a smaller size 3"!
  4. I love repainting shad raps and my favorite color is a chartruse bluegill.
  5. Well, If your only using them yourself---buy a pack and make yourself a POP mold! You'll be able to make them in any color and as many as you want.
  6. Thanks for the information, I'll give it a try and then decide what I'll do.
  7. I'm trying to make some AlumiFoam lures and wondering if anyone else here has tried it and what your results were? I don't like working with balsa wood and that is one reason I'm trying this. I'm copying a shad rap (I don't sell lures, just making for personal use) Made my mold and tried to make the lures, but having a little trouble getting theamount to pour in the mold correct. Screw eyes seem to hold great in the foam. Getting the lure to run correctly takes some testing. I love airbrushing lures, but buying shad raps at around eight bucks to repaint gets costly, so I hope this foam works out.
  8. Thanks for the info. let's see Baitjunkies sells Highrockmolds and lureparetsonline sells Lakeside Bait molds; and ultramolds is the man who made Bears baits? Think I've got them all straight.
  9. What's the difference between basstackle.com and Btsmolds.com? Both in Arizona and both carry the same molds?
  10. It doesn't look like you have much body weight on them? How deep can you fish them on the retrieve or are you just fishing them over the weed tops?
  11. I ordered two tube molds from him and got them in two days! Great molds and super prices! I will recommend him highly and will also order more molds from him.
  12. Thanks for that web page. I just ordered a 3/4 inch piece to try out!
  13. Should catch a lot of fishermen! Don't know about any more fish.
  14. How about storing the GST, since it air dries; do you have to use blogen to store the unused portion (much like Dick Nite?)
  15. Now let me get this straight. GST will make createx paint run; so you put createx clear over the paint and let it dry. Then you clearcoat with GST?
  16. I don't think the alumlite will hold up. I've never tried to make bills out of it. The guys that I know that make bodies out of alumlite insert a bill into the mold. For swimming baits it might work, but if your banging the bill off of thr bottom.. I don't think it will work.

    Holiday's

Merry Christmas and happy new year to all members and their families at TU. I look forward to seeing your posts in the future!
  18. I've looked at the jika rigs and don't understand why they're needed. Can't a person just tie the hook on with a palomar knot and leave the tag end on. Then crimp some shot on the tag end for the same results?
  19. Do-It said they will be doing other plastic molds with the same type of deal I imagine so... stay tuned!
  20. What do you guys think about Rapala's BX Swimmer. It is a balsa wood bait coated in hard plastic. I would like to see the machine that holds the balsa bait while it is being coated.
  21. I know your talking about the Storm Arashi and I've haven't ,seen one up close, but the picture of the line tie is of a piece of wide metal that has some play (sideways) so that the water current can help keep it centered. Maybe someone has a better picture or description. I understand how you could make the line tie hole in the lexan lip larger, but not sure how the line tie is anchored in the lure body?
  22. I've been a lifetime member since the early eighty's. Actually was a member when BASS was started and thought about fishing the first tournament on Beaver Lake. Passed it up because I was going to get married. Still read and keep up with the stuff today to follow the new baits and fishing styles. BASS was geared toward selling products and that is one reason they are able to get money from the tackle makers. The walleye leagues will never make it because they gear their tournments toward the competitor; allowing livebait etc.
  23. Thanks for the information guys. Im going to play around with it. Will buy some acrylic clear also!
  24. I was in Hobby Lobby today looking at the glitter glue. Lots of nice colors. Wonder if you can use it on lures? Squirt some on and play with it with a paintbrush; let it dry and clearcoat over it? Does it dry hard enough for this use? Anyone out there tried using this stuff ?
  25. I plan to just brush it on, wouldn't think of using it in my airbrush. Primalry use will be for stripes, dots, and the back of plugs.
