would love to see some video of those if you could. Great looking baits
  12. Just curious JR What do you dye or color your fibers with? BTW amazing work sir
  13. I agree....also from this angle it looks like your joints are a little close. (could just be the pic) Also for weighting I personally only weight in the 1st 2 sections with 65-75% of the weight being in the 1st section (I found this to really help the bait do a 180 and 360 degree turns when twitched)
  14. can you show a picture of the bait you are making? How do you have it weighted?
  15. Yeah I hear ya.....I love the thought process. Keep us updated if you see any change. I just think I might have to give one or two a try. Thanks for the creative idea
  16. Any concerns with it warping? Or mis shaping in some fashion?

Wow looking nice.....I dont hardly have the patience to foil 1 bait let alone that many.
  18. I hope you didnt think I was Ted...If so I am sorry I was just searching for an answer to his question and quoted ted
  19. "Here is the number to the Co. I get them from Precision Lure's Inc (870)528-4016. They sell in quanity - thousand at a time. If you dont need that many we have a member that makes them. try his site www.getbitlures.com . If you do use Precision tell them Ted from HappyTime Hand Pours sent you. As far as attaching them I tried lots of ways from hot knife irons - candle flames - and the best way I think is a portable blow torch you get at home depot for like $19. get the one that shoots the flame at a 90 degree angle. Fire it up on a low flame hold skirt in left hand and bait in right, touch each one to the flame at the same time for just a second then stick together. its that easy. I do wear a respirator and make sure you have air flow. the torch can suck all the oxygen out of a room. I do it in my garage with my door open." I searched and found this info....you might want to to a search for tube skirt there was quite a bit of info.
  20. Do you mind sharing your mix for bone? I have been trying to locate a good color for that with not very much luck. Thanks

    Bait Photo

    I second that....looks great!
  22. have you played with tail size? I think that may be causing a bit of the twist you were talking about. Other than that...the bait looks awesome and I cant wait to see a vid in the pond!!
  23. Just curious but wouldnt a paint like an acrylique mix better in the soft plastic?....you can pick up some cheap apple barrel acrylique paint from places like hobby lobby or michaels for 99cents. You may also want to try and thin it....I would start by thinning it with windex. I am just not 100% sure how it will react to heat but now you have me interested
