  1. very nice. Ditto the THANKS to Bojon. Got the kits as well. Now I just need more hours in the day to play with plastics n fish. Jay
  2. I was trying to buy a cutter from Bojon and 3 PM's is all you get. LOL The Bondo is just that. Car Bondo. Works pretty good. Yes, I just let the bondo harden and poured the fiberglass resin right over it. No release needed on the plastics for either. Mold is like all one. Not even a line where they meet. Resinb is just a little smoother. I can wet sand each to make them smoother if needed just like you would if it was on a car or boat. I pay like 36 bucks a gal for the resin. Only issue I have with it is if you add to much hardener to more than an inch thickenss it cracks in half as it hardens. As in your one piece is now 2. For cost and ease you can't beat POP.
  3. Crayons work. I found that out last yr and posted it here after trying several markers, pens, and so on when I didn't have any colors. Only problem with using crayons is they bleed the crayon out. Not a big deal and other than that it works fine. If you leave a lure on paper for a few days you'll see the wax from the crayon on the paper. Crush the crayon with a hammer and stir in. This can be done after you heat the plastic. Half crayon per cup colors it. If you want darker colors you can just add more. Jay
  4. I prefer to hook the Sluggo's just a half inch in from the tip. Poke the straight shank 5 to 8/0 hook right through and let the lure hang free on the hook. GREAT action this way. no need for a tail hook. Bass suck them down like candy. I've hooked thousands of bass this way. As for the mold. That was POP. i've made several dozen since. Yes, I'm whacked. Tried just about everything I could find to make molds. I like fiberglass resin the best. Didn't care much for the DP felt it was to soft. As you can see in this shot below I broke a few test molds taking them apart to quickly. This was a clean bench before I came out to play after getting home from fishing at 2am. Another 6 of Heinekens and 2 gals of plastic, Half a bag of POP, gal of resin, can of DP, the 2 pots I taped and so on. So I made a little mess. LOL Look at the mold in the pic that is half Bondo and half Resin (pink and brown). Testing which gave best results I figured I would use both in one mold. Couple LG sluggo's and 11" Yums. Both materials (bondo and resin) made very nice molds. I'm now only testing with resin amnd then going right to Aluminum. I have some very cool stuff going on but want to get all set up beofre even starting to sell anything.
  5. What did you think you were ordering for the mold? It
  6. Sorry guys. Not trying to bust stones. Just looking for info. Interesting that Anise is known to be the best fresh water bass scent. I
  7. No doubt. Some much more than others. But garlic for fish scent? What scent did you find works best?
  8. Help me out here. I know plastic lures smell like plastic. People try to mask the smell with scents. Guess that makes senses even though your still not removing any plastic scent just adding another scent to it. But why in the hell would you add any scent that isn
  9. I use the 500 saltwater plastic from LC. Live in CT with old man winter. The gal I had in my outbuilding I was using got a quarter inch thick hard patch over the entire bottom and would not mix or anything else. I still used the plastic and it seemed just as thick as the other gal. So no ill effect I could see but as stated big time seperation in cold.
  10. Sorry Guys. Can you say dumbazz. Was trying to get on Bears via Bobs. My bad.
  11. Thanks Chris but no. I can get there and log on. But that is just for the site. I see no link to the forum sections. Don't see any links to forum??? Can you get in the forum and post a link to any thread please. Thanks
  12. Can someone please post a link to inside the Bobs forum. Trying to buy a discounted mold there and for whatever reason I can't see a link on his site to the forum. Log in and still don;t see the forum link. Was in and posted there the other day but now I'm lost. Thanks Jay
  13. I only make saltwater lures at this point and add nothing. I have tested a lot (oils and salts) and it hasn't proven to be a plus for me so far. Not even having a pail of fresh bloody bunker sitting on my deck for dunking lures. After using bunker oil I thought If I stepped it up with fresh snagged bloody bunker it might work. Not. With out anything added the fish still kill them fishing side by side with others. Even though match the hatch still applies to saltwater I find White to be the number one color for me in any area around the globe I've fished. I always have white lures of some kind when I'm fishing. Taking giant jigs fishing? What kind of fish and where? If you were in New England I would tell you to use White, White w/red tail or vise versa. Blue, Pink, and Green. I made a bunch of teasers I just tested Cod fishing. 3 foot up from the jig I tied one off. Picked up just as many fish on the teaser as the jig. Captain flipped and begged me for more. For the teasers I just took some Mr. Twister type grubs I made in white and then re dipped the tails in red. Dip the tail twice and hang it off a table to dry. It straightens them out. Like crack to the Cod, Haddock, and Pollock. Can't tell you how many Stripers have holes in there lips in the last month for my lures. Dozens this past weekend alone. White, white with pink heads and tails, and white belly gun metal or black tops. Night I have no need for any color but black for any fish anywhere.
  14. Thanks guys. going to give it a shot this weekend.
  15. How long do I have to work with it before it sets up? Doesn
  16. Very nice Inspector Gadget. Looks great. If you make it out of Spanish Cedar you don
  17. Congrats. Sneak over to his place and put your name on his boat.
  18. Very cool lure. I made one that could be it's twin big brother minus the side fins. I use mine for Stripers so they start at 10". With a one sided mold like your doing my sluggo, Yum, Fin-S type lures swim flat side up. Not sure what yours will do with that curled tail. Mine are straight more eel like. If your lures swim flat side up like mine your head is upside down. I found the head shape doesn
  19. Thank you guys. Sorry Bear. Never looked at your site. I'm on it now. Thanks
  20. Thanks guys. Jim what issue did you have with the Lee pot? Bear is there a major advantage to build one verses buying? I
