  1. I started pouring 2 color Sluggo's. I think I found a great new color for them you can't buy. My new custom 10.5" Sluggo is white/Black. I pour white in first and them as soon as it gets a skin I pour in the black. Worked well sub surface with no weight and on a 4oz jighead. 6 Stripers from 36 to 42". also lost a dozen lures to Blues biting them in half. At least I can now re-melt the halfs I have left thanks to you guys teaching me how to pour plastics. Thanks
  2. Like coping all these other companies designs for our plastic lures is okay. Give me a break. You never downloaded a sound off napster or where ever, copied CD’s, DVD, a page from a book, or anything that has a copy write? You go spend grandage on S/W and I’ll make a couple illegal copies and spend my cash on gas and beer for fishing. Jay
  3. I pour 9 to 12" Slugo's and they work GREAT! I put one cup of 500 in the micro for 1 minute. Stir hard with a thin long SS spoon. Put it back in for 30 then stir again. It's thicken by then. Last time for 30 seconds and pour. No bubbles. If any bubbles are made from pour fast (which I do) I touch them with the end of the spoon (Tip end not spoon end) and this pops them leavinf no marks. Once a skin has started if you pop any bubbles they leave marks. Try placing some Aluminum foil strips in the clears. Looks really cool and works very good on Stripers I can tell you that. Jay
  4. BUY a CNN for a couple little parts. That
  5. Thanks Jim. I made a mistake in my post. I meant to say I tried 502 and it was to soft.
  6. I use the 500 from LC. It's for large salt water lures. Can anyone tell me which other plastics are comparable? I tried some 500 and it was to soft. Del has CPC 1207 that
  7. Hey:censored: I didn't get one. Maybe he saw my horns.
  8. Thanks guys. you turkeys got me hooked. 1am last night I was in my outbuilding melting diff tails to Sluggo's looking for my next favorite lures. I cleaned it up and did the first coat of sealer. I'll bake it on and then add three more. Calling up right now for yet ANOTHER gallon of 500. My buddies are busting my stones in a major way for these. they love all the colors they can't buy in the stores. They also love the fact that mine they get for free. Try using the plastic with NO color. The clear ones are really paying off for me and I have not seen any plastics clear in the stores. I have tried them in day and night with good results.
  9. Just made a 9 part sluggo mold. Crazy glued 9 sluggo's to a plastic pool filter winter cover. Taped cardboard around the sides and filled. Just need to do a little cleaning and sealing. Just ordered a gal of 500 and found several bins of crayons. I'm freaken hooked on this. Also I find it saves me even on the ones that get trashed. I just pop the hook through the very top of the sluggo so it hangs free. Gives me very good action that way and stays just sub surface where I want it. After casting for a while they rip the hook out and the sluggo goes flying. Now I motor over to them and pick them up to re melt. Last trip to the water I tossed off and had fish rip off 9 sluggo's. Got 7 back to re melt. Very cool. Little clean up and I'm good to go
  10. Very cool. Glad it worked out for you. Wish I was sent the 500 instead of the 502 soft stuff. Need to send it back. The ones I made kicked ass. White, clear, clear with some foil added in, yellow, and some spit colors. Yellow didn't performe well. No takers. Yellow and white rocked them just as all the others I tossed out. 20 plus keepers up to 38". I'm headed back Friday. And the Fluke are running as well. 25" and 26" out of my five keepers smallest going 22". FISH FRY BABY!
  11. Glad I could contribute something that is actually useful to you pro
  12. I can't tell any diff with the wax crayon added in. Looks, feels, and acts the same.
  13. Drew I tried searching on crayons before post this because I figure you guys must have tried everything. No post on using them for color came up. I was just looking for anything with a liquid color that I thought wouldn
  14. Here's a couple shots. Sorry, they're from my cell. The lures look and feel just like all the others. Two tone yellow bellies, solid yellow, white
  15. I put a half a yellow crayon in about 2/3 a cup of 500 and it worked. I have been using old plastic to color. didn't have any yellow so while looking for a marker to cut open I found a box of crayons. I searched but didn't find any threads on crayons. Have you guys tried this? Just ordered a gal with several colors. Thanks for the new addiction. Jay
  16. Sound like most are referring to freshwater fishing for LMB. Also I
  17. Thanks TM. Harder to find saltwater lure building. Most is for sweet water.
  18. Thanks again. Making some new molds and trying more over the weekend. A this rate I should have bought 5 gals of plastic. Everyone I show them to is putting in their orders. Like i have time to make there's when I could be fishing with mine.
  19. You do man Nova. Thank you very much. I did a bunch of searches on floured salt. Still have a few questions. It's just salt in a grinder making it powdered? There is no actual flour add. does salt make the plastic sink?
  20. I have no clue how they got me on there list but I
  21. Thanks Nova Is poly urethane an options?
  22. What do you use for sealing POP molds? I did 3 coats of a stain sealer and it came off on the plastic when I removed it from the mold. What are my options for sealers? Thanks Jay
  23. Thank you very much everyone. I put a 1/3 of a cup in for a minute. Stirred. Another minute and stirred. It was clear by this time. I did another 30 seconds and poured. Very cool. I did think this stuff dried white. It
