  1. My first pair of round nose came from Sears, 2nd pair came from moore's and 3rd pair came from Stamina. Love them. Good Luck.
  2. I second the use of thread and glue, topped off with S.H. fingernail polish to finish. It won't dry rot like the collars will eventually. Never had a problem with the flashabou coming loose either. Good Luck
  3. I have both also, with adapters. I find myself using the round nose pliers 98% of the time. For the .062 wire (which I don't use alot because of the difficulty of bending), I still use round nose pliers and a vise. There are a couple of good tutorials using pliers for .051 and .062 wire, I'll look for the links. Check them out.
  4. I'm just curious, is there an advantage in using wire to tie skirts on? I've tried wire, but went back to using thread. I was probably using a wire that was to light of a gauge. The wire would last a long time, as would the thread. I'm not much in favor of the plastic/rubber collars. Thanks
  5. I picked up a vise from Dick Moore, especially for holding throttle cable. I think his son makes them and they work great. Good Luck.
  6. Catalog is free and shipping rates are normal, never really checked on that. I talked with a lady several times when ordering and they are very pleasant to deal with. Hopefully you'll have the same experience.
  7. No website, you'll have to call that #, they will send catalog. Kind of like the old-fashioned way, but it's kinda nice. This is for tackle-craft 715-723-3645, they are out of Chippewa Falls
  8. That new shimano curado is very nice also. I heard the revo was a good reel also. Just got the curado 300 for muskies and can't wait for soft water.
  9. I have been using all the above mentioned, plus a couple more. Tackle-craft (715-723-3645) out of WI. They are mail order, they can send you a catalog. Nice people and fast delivery. anglersworkshop.com is another, also fast shipping and reasonable.
  10. You can tie it on trebles and mix it up with anything or by itself. I prefer to tie it on because the rubber band will eventually break or dry-rot. Better yet A TOOTH (you hope) will catch it just right. If you start your thread on coil, then a dab of glue then the flash. It can be a pain to work with, but take your time. It looks great when done. I always between layers, cover threads with a small coat of fishing glue (brush type). When completely done I use the Sally Hansen hard as nails clear coat (2 coats) Tried to take a bucktail apart the other day, it was quite the challenge and very impressive. It's definatly not going to come apart. Spring fever has me very busy.
  11. You can get 10" silicone metal flake skirts from Moore's (53 strand) for 1.30 ea. I use those and mix them up with the round rubber, bought in bulk. They look and work great.
