  1. Jed I free hand mine , but you can make a molded stencil that contours your bait and they fit perfect and are easily made.Rayburnguy had some success with this style of stencils. Free hand is just alot easier and quicker for me, but I dont sell anymore(no extra time for that anymore)so if im off abit its just for myself and a few friends baits.

    Scale Masking

I wrap the netting around the bait and clamp with small clamps( little black clamps used in office supplies)around the bottom of the bait. clamp the netting down at the belly of your bait so you will have a nice scale along the back bone of your bait and fade down torwards the belly.
  3. Man you have way too much time on your hands... Just kidding, man those are great. you must have nerves of steel to do that kind of work.
  4. I like your design so well I went to the garage and started my own bait.
  5. Diemai, I like the bottom swimbait design. I like the longer joints in the sections of the swimbait.I think I would feel alot better with the longer joints. Ive never had an issue happen with the more narrow joint sections, but I always imagine the pin just blowing out the wood on the second section of the bait ( like I said this is all my imagination) Back to your design, good idea with the rivets I will have to try this, Ive been useing beads to stop the friction of the joints. Thank you for sharing your designs and keep up the good work.
  6. might be a contamination issue before the etex. how do you handle your baits before painting?

    Stamina Inc.

Im going to give them a try again, I just ordered lets see.
  8. Great find I can use these for sure. Thank you
  9. The first step Dave is to admit you have a problem. Just joking Dave, I said 3 on a slow day ( the key words are slow days)I would probably be right there with you on a good day.
  10. I was just wonder how many times everyone checks out this site in a days time. Im good for 3 times on a slow day when im not fishing.
  11. This is the million dollar question.
  12. Ive also made topwater musky baits like this with the weight outside of the bait. The weight (a round ball from a black powder rifle) drilled through and the rear screw eye ran through. You need a long screw eye for this. Just made a few years ago, but never really fished with it was much more of a prototype that never went anywhere. It had great action with very little effort to use.
  13. weight in the back section of the bait. The bait needs to be rear heavy. You are talking about a top water walk the dog and not a sub surface?
  14. Diemai is the man to talk to. He makes some outstanding banana lures .

  16. i have another one for you Jerry. On your status updates or even on your friends list why is your avatar on some shows there pics while others( like mine) show a out lined figure. Just trying to figure everything out sorry for the minor questions.
  17. Thanks dieter, thats what happened, I sanded a slight pitch to the right and its just like cutting a lip slot that isnt square in a crankbait.
  18. That was it Jerry, thanks for the help.
  19. Im with bobp on this.More patience= fewer failures. There is no real short cuts with epoxy( not one that I would do) read the directions and stick with the directions with epoxy.
  20. Thanks for the reply, I tried to pm you about this but for some reason my pm is not working( I dont mean to keep writing for directions on your thread and getting off topic, sorry for that)but its the only way to get some direction for right now. I must have made a bad pass on the sander the lip was off a bit. It will take a couple more tries but I will get it right. Thanks for your help ole buddy
  21. jerry the error # is 10227 thanks
  22. just wanted to say thanks for the specs on those baits. It made turning the bait alot easier. The baits pretty close to yours but not quite yet, I will try another. How did you trim the lip down on this bait?
