Hope they come through with all said . I had problems in the past with everything back ordered but things can change. I like the idea of free shipping ( if this is true I my give them another chance)
  4. Very nice... I like your solution to the line tie. I was worried about the screw eye in such a narrow lip. Im going to turn one down ( or try ) tonight. Also, did I miss this or does this bait have no ballest in the belly or are the hooks enough? Thank you for your fountain of knowledge and sorry for getting off topic.
  5. Thank you for the info, it would have taken myself several turns to get it right. I may have to ask a few questions down the road.
  6. Watched the video again today and I love the action of the Rush Tango model and you have inspired myself to build this style of bait. I didnt think that this style of bait would have such great action.Without seeing this bait swim I would have never thought of making this style of bait. Thank again for posting your video.
  7. Diemai, great video, I really like the swim of your swimbaits. All your baits have great action to them and I cant wait to see some more videos( hint some of your homemade spoons, I enjoy your pics of those baits)
  8. I like to coat a second coat when the lure is still tacky. The two coats will bond to each other and become one. This is why on the turner I place a scrape piece of wood with some excess clear coated on it to test for tackiness. Room temps and humidity causes this stuff set up at different times so I use the scrape piece to check to see if its ready or not(more if I can turn the dryer off than the other) The scrape piece has saved me on several occasions.
  9. Thanks for the info, I dont know much about this clear but any info is appreciated
  10. Rayburn I was talking about trying to use these two types of materials for v-forming the stencil instead of buying them from a supplier.
  11. Being a truck driver/salesman for pepsi I was wondering has anyone tried trimming a 2 liter bottle down and see if it would conform. I stack these all day long and today I started to looked at them in a different way.If this would work it would be easy and cheap material. I wonder if a milk jug would work also.
  12. Jerry, when I go to my profile it says Jamie has not set there status. What needs done. One more question I dont understand the reputation rating on your profile, some people rate 10 good and some rate 0 neutral. I sure Im going to have more questions the more I look, sorry for all the questions.
  13. I hope you bought more than one sheet of plastic. It would suck to drive it again
  14. Over time you may have a problem with the dowels slipping off the plastic tubes ( wear and tear). Maybe you could use some smaller pvc pipe just big enough for the dowel to slide in and use a set screw to hold the dowel in place. The smaller pipe could be the same length as the clear tubbing, centered with a screw to the main wheel and when you slide the dowel in place then tighten a set screw into the dowel. Just a thought.
  15. For myself lurebuilding is a fun stress relieving hobby.Money is my last concern and when you catch your first fish on your lure it will open up a whole new world. After working a 60+ hour week running like a wild man trying to finish for the day, my garage is my sanctuary and this is how I burn a little tension off.
  16. What does your turner look like? I was thinking maybe you could glue down and modify wood cloth pins ( the kind with the wire springs). You can buy them by the bag fulls( and there cheap) ,you can have one pin for each jig head. I dont know if this a option I dont know what kind of wheel you have.It would be nice if you could make a rack of some sort to line up these pins when you need them and take them off when you dont need them.
  17. Thanks Boone, nice pics. Ive been useing the old standard foil tape for years and was looking at some different options on color.
  18. Yes I do let it set for 15 minutes or so. Another thing is I dont try and mix a large amount at one time you can get into problems with not mixing it well ( follow the directions and mix for the time recommended )I mix enough to do a due a few musky baits at a time and dont try to brush on real heavy, just clear the bait. I always have a test strip with etex on the turner as well ( a small stip of wood with some etex on it). What I do with this is test the etex for tackiness. I dont let mine cure all the way( close but not all the way) before adding the second coat , that way the two layers will bond to each other a little better.Ive never used the other clear that you talked about but if it goes on thicker than etex maybe you are not useing enough layers to match the EX74. This is the way I do my baits and things seem to work out fine for me, but a six inch bait is about as small as I make and that might be the difference.I know that turning lures on a wheel sucks, but you gotta do what you gotta do to get the job done. for muskies etex is the one clear that I always go back to. On the other hand I learned old school and I will be honest Ive not tried any of the clears that has came out in the last year or so. I hope this helped.......Jamie
  19. Happy birthday Pete.( sorry for being late just seen this post)
  20. Thanks for the info V man. I would say the reason for that is there is a larger void for the glue to fill in the loose barrel than in the tight one.
  21. Thanks Bob and thanks Husky:yay:
