  1. I saw this on a TV show (Lunkerville). Let the bottom half dry then put tin foil over the top of mold (master side) cover it all. Form the tin around the bait and then pour on top of the tin let it dry. Then you should have a good to go mold. I haven't made a full round mold yet I seen them do it and it worked. I think ceran wrap (I don't know if thays spelled right) would work too. I think were getting off track on this post! Sorry! Tman2. Just remember in two weeks you'll be making perfect POP molds or be really CONFUSED!!!!!!!
  2. You can put them on the top. Their is no right or wrong way its what YOU whant to do. People seem to forget their way may not be the best way for others. The one thing not to many people touched on is how to mix the plaster. I mix mine 1 cup ice cold water in mixing cup , 2 1/4 to 2 1/2 cups plaster second. I use a paint stirer to mix with I tilt the mixing cup at a 45 degree angle. Stiring slow so the stick doesn't leve the mix until it becomes like cake batter with no lumps. Then pour it in slow as not to over lap where you are pouring so not to trap air. Place bait in heavy side in first ( two hands needed) while holding the thin wide parts up. Then start to push in on the heavy side working twoards the claw. Kinda of like rolling it on. Little air if any should get traped under the claws. It will take a few times to get it down. It will come to you the more you do.
  3. I think I'm going to go cash the brass in. Sounds a little to much for me. If anybody whants to trade or buy it let me know. I think its about 10lb give or take need to weight it first.
  4. Does anybody have an idea of the temp to melt brass at or if its a waste of time.
  5. Try doing it by the stove. The range vent should cut the smoke down if its vented to the outside or by the window with a fan blowing out side.
  6. Forgot to ask is the one on the right supposed to be the same color as the tails on both of them.
  7. Where they in the same bag? and did a color transfer. I put Berkley blue flec fire tails in with blue saphire to turn the tails a blue, purple, pink pearl. Customs may have opened them and put them together in the same bag. It may be a long shot but it does happen. They have whent thourgh some of my orders I sent to Canada in the past. They will do that if the papers are not in perfect order. Maybe Osama moved to Canada and took up fishing (LOL)
  8. Thaks Del, I think everybody is tired of getting scamed by jerks on ebay.
  9. It does seem a little odd using del's pictures on ebay (Good Eye!). They do seem to have a large amount of them. Maybe it would take to much time to take pictures of all of them. I woundn't mind having some of them. I won't bid on them since Its not the actual picture. Did it once before neve agian. I still have burns from getting burned.
  10. Going to start on my soft plastic lab this summer. Any tips? Oh getting the chills just thinking about it!!!
  11. Thanks I was going to order that on my next order. Do you know if it has a deep purplish almost deep bluish purplish sparkle to it.
  12. I am going to asume it is Mustad or Gamaksu(G*!?U) or VMC you get the point. Email them they will tell you. I'm leaning towards Mustad. Thats what they look like to me ( I am not a certafied hook Xpert) . Save a little coin for them. I am sure they will tell you or your local tackle shop that sells can find out from their reps.
  13. Heres one Table Rock Shad I belive its Purple on top with purple and black flake, Chartreuse Belly with black and chartreuse flake or you reverse the chartreuse and purple flake. Their is hard baits in that color with that name. Check Jann's out they have it in their hard bait section. My buddy's inlaws live on the lake. He said you can see a least ten feet down so its pretty clear. He did his best on culprit red shad and table rock shad.
  14. I checked out the new molds today the pictures are a lot better. It is still hard to make out the detail in the mold. Maybe software trouble. They will get it right.
  15. I think it may have to do with the quailty of the plating and the polish process I think. Also the metal they use may have something to do with it. Have you checked with Jann's yet they seem to be a little cheaper then Barlow's on some stuff.
  16. On chunk molds I put them on the bottom and pour POP over the top of them. I make the POP thicker so they Won't float up. It Seems to get rid of 99% of the bubbles If not all of them. I am Going to try it with all my flat bottom baits.
  17. I think they use a mono backing because the braided is smaller then mono so you won't fill your reel all the way. Then as we all know no more 150 yard cast because the spool is only half full or less. When most people buy line they only get the filler spools because its cheaper. So in reality it would be cheaper to buy the cheapest mono to fill up some of the reel and be able to get a higher quailty braided line. A 150 yard of Stren Microfues is $16.99 for a 150yards to $32.99 for the 300 yarder. So I think some people may have made a story up because they didn't whant to spend the cash and look cheap. I did buy the stern microfuse 300 yard 30#.Filled four of my Diawa baitcasters it was only supposed to be big as 12# line. They only hold 150 yards per reel. Go figure that one out!
  18. The more I look at it, it's starting to look home made. The dipper looks to be custom made to fit the pot. The rest looks pretty crappy, welds look a little sloppy for a $4,000.00 item. I do work in a metal fab shop. We wouldn't let the poor man walk out with it looking like that for four grand. Most shop labor is $35 to $50 an hour and their is maybe five hours in that and that push'in it. I could see a $1,000 to $850 new with the pot. He must be talk'in it up because the starting bid is so high.
  19. I seen these hooks on ebay Shogun Big Game Hooks They have 12/0. hope that helps
  20. You may have gotten a "Bootleg" Rapala on ebay if it was a discontinued one. I sell Hard to find and discontinued Rapalas on ebay and some Rapala's are big money makers. I get mine from local tackle shops. We have one here that you could consider a fishing museam. But mainly people don't use thoes colors around here. Anyways some people have just as much skill as you guys do painting lures probaly more time then we do to repaint a lure and alter packages. That they picked up on clearance and poof a $5.00 Rapala be comes a $25.00 to $50.00 Rapala on ebay.Yes Rapala does make mistakes every big company does one way or the other. Unless its a Lure thats his made in the U.S. If their is any left?
  21. Ya If their is a chance of getting burned don't buy it or even look at it. I burned myself while pouring fast as it hit my hand. I did the natrual fast reaction thing to wipe at soon as it hit the skin it came right off. It took three months to heal. I think if I didn't hit it off it would have been a lot worse? Saftey first and foremost. Cheap tackle doesn't equal cheap ER trips!!!
  22. I checked GTZIP they had 1,000 count 8X6 hang hole bags for $42.99 plus shipping
  23. My buddy had a few of thoes helicopter lures. He had caught a 5 pounder on one. He has a photo with the helicopter hanging from the hawg mouth. He did catch quite a few fish with them. So if anybody has any let me know he's looking to buy more. He lost the ones he had in battle.
  24. When I buy molds I buy them stright from the maker. That way their is no problems. I am still waiting on a custom painted lure I got on ebay over three weeks ago. I don't like to wait for my molds. So get them from the maker.
