  1. the hotter the plastic the faster it settles also... i stir very well then pour 2 baits,, then stir again very well then pour 2 baits and so on.. you can only get 2 pours with average sized baits before you need to stir. make sure you bring the salt to the top when you stir. do not just spin it around , also use a spoon not a rod or knife. the spoon will catch more salt and stir it better.
  2. what is going on with the salt that is not working ?? I hand pour and inject with salt a lot .
  3. Nice, looks like the Crappie pup but a touch longer tails

  6. buy a gallon of Medium , it will not spoil and the cost on qts and pts are not cheap.
  7. adding a small amount more of softener should not add more chemical smell than it already has. also, back when I was racing slot cars in HOPRA & UFHORA the chassis on the race cars were plastic if we boiled them they would get softer if we baked them they would get stiffer it was different plastic than worm plastisol but mite be kinda where the hot water comes in ? I have had hand poured sticks with heavy salt that got firm after setting around , I boiled a few for 10 minutes, they were much softer after that, its been a while so I do not remember how long they stayed soft .
  8. I would think ? that the 502 has some softener already in it .
  9. X2 dawn dish soap and a pan scrubber, been using same Pyrex cups for 6-7 years. Only broke 1 when I dropped it on the cement floor. oopps, did have 1 break in micro a few years back when I tried heating up a cup 1/3 full of plastic that had been heated before and left to cool. Just stuck it in the micro with the cold cooked plastic in a solid pc. and that popped the pyrex. After that I always cut up remelts into small pc. and add some new fresh uncooked plastic and had -0- problems. knock on wood.
  10. I do believe that hard sinks more than soft. when you get settling in your plastisol jug its the hardener that settles. but different brands float and sink different . adding just a touch of salt will not hurt.
  11. Monte, whats your thought on the heat rating on the stuff from Michaels,, it looks great !
