  2. 2 oz batches are hard to do., I would go to 4 oz, and a thermometer is needed I used calhons a few years back, and bubbles were bad.. not sure how it is now.
  3. I have made 10-12 batches with out a decent match.. I can get a match for the tails.. but then the body is to brown,, If I match the body the tails are to green I can match the 301 stick baits but with that for hogs the tails are to green I will keep trying. rite now my green pumpkin is pumpkinseed & watermelon. can darken with black.. been adding yellow.. will be adding orange next the colors I have made are close and do catch fish.. but I have that 1 customer,, you know,, that wants it exact.. and the customer is always rite !!!
  4. I need help matching Yamamoto's # 301 green pumpkin. I have all LC colors if you look at his grubs or hogs, the body is dark green and the tails are yellow/ brown thanks Jeff
  5. must be there is a few different type drums used. thanks Frank Jeff
  6. thanks, and I take it these would be Spike-It ? Jeff
  7. why can't you put the drum on its side ? we are thinking about getting a drum also. we will be transfering to smaller containers rite a way. so does the drum have a 2" hole & a full size lid thats comes off ? Jeff
  8. what spike do you have.. ultra.. poura,, ? soft ...med. hard . ? Jeff I mite take it ?
  9. the 12 oz --- 4oz ratio did not keep the bubbles down as well.
  10. Not sure what this tells us ? but this morning I mixed 9 oz of Soft Spike with 7 oz of MF soft to get a 16oz batch the mixture was almost bubble free !! I have a lot of baits to get out this weekend I am about to go back out and try a mixture of the same products but use 12 oz of spike & 4 oz of MF and see what happins. Someone else needs to try this mixture and see what they get . Jeff
  11. I got a similar request from poss. the same guy..a while back.. I just deleted it ,, but was not poss. it was bogus.. but figured so. Jeff
  12. I think the best way to decide what to buy is to look at the baits you like, and try to get those colors and glitters. I've found that one manuf.'s plastic will work with another's colors and glitters, so brand is really just a matter of personal preference, and who has what you're looking for. --------------------------------------------------------- thats being said greens,,,browns,,,blacks.. are popular. for colors -- if you use less of a color you get a lighter shade. glitters red,, black,,gold,,purple & blue are popular.. .015 & .035 if you can save money by less shipping thats great,, but some times the cost of an item from one place is enough less to pay the shipping twice.. lure craft is a great place to start and get all items.. but other places are good too.

    Salt

salt is cheap but the shipping is more because of the weight.
  14. you may not find a mold that is ---- exact ---- zoom may have a patent on the bait ?
  15. YES,YES,YES, ventilation is important.!!!!
  16. you also will need a good place to make baits. in the house is not an option. you will need a vent fan to exhaust fumes and a good mask to wear. send me your address & I will send you a hand poured senko from LC resin mold & from Dels 2pc aluminum mold so you can see the difference side by side. I started out with the one pc. LC senko molds.. they catch fish. but most fisherman do not want to buy um. the flat side turns them off.the fish do not care but the fish do not buy baits.
  17. I have used 15 gallons of spike and there is more bubbles in it after heating ( micro ) than in a couple other brands I have used but for the cost savings I make it work. Other than the bubbles I really like the plastic, Jeff
  18. Rick, looks as if they are one and the same. Jeff
  19. Craig, I use a micro,, why not just pour from the pyrex rite out of micro? also does the mold leak where its cracked? I have one thats cracked too but it still works fine.
