I think that exact mold is discontinued.
It is either Bobs or Bass Tackle.
I had this mold some years back .
Is it a 5" ?
Frank also had it -- If its the mold I am thinking of .
Sounds like you mite just need to warm the mold before pouring ?
If so, not sure the proper way to warm silicone molds.
Maybe pour it with a color you can cut up and reuse.
Maybe a Hair dryer.
I do know after they get heated up they hold the heat and maybe to much heat .
Shipping cost are bad these days ,,
Maybe add a couple items that you will need later on to your order ??
Gas is also almost $ 3.00 a gallon .
Do you think that bait pictured would be helped with a kill dot ?
It has to be the salt ... the type of salt ..
I Have added salt after I made a non salted bait a lot of times, and as Jig Man said it just needs more color when salt is added so I could see a couple more drops of black needed to get the smoke color. But I have never saw a bait turn blue when salt is added.
Your posting this question in the wrong spot.. Ask in the Soft Plastics Thread below the Pinned topics.
Anyway . put a very thin amount of Worm oil on the inside of mold before pouring.
I have lived in Michigan all my life and as a kid it was fun ,, but the last 20 years I have not liked it at all. It's been below 0 at night and 15-20 degrees during the day time - Sucks !
I do not think its a blending block,, its a lamination block,, but with Franks direction on temps it can be used as a Blending block. That's the way I am thinking anyway.
The early samples I got from Polysol maybe before Bait Plastics ? not sure . I did not like, baits got very oily after just a few days from pour date. Maybe they improved on that , they said they would work on it . I never did buy any at that time.I also had the Do-it plastisol get oily after they were bagged awhile. That was a few years back also .
To save money -- Yes that's why we all do it ..
But it never happens !!!
The price of a half dozen molds and supplies could buy a lot of baits !!
We love it , that's why !
