    Lady Bluegills

As you can tell, I let the girls pick out the colors.
  2. Thanks for the tips & the info on the D2T & other clearcoats. Yesterday was a disaster, but looking back I've learned alot more from making mistakes than I ever thought was possible. I am realizing how you guys get to the level your at w/ lots of homework and practice. Can you believe I had over 80 hours in that bluegill prototype. It even had a seatbelt strap hinge system, that I've been working on for along time. Oh welll, moving on to my lipless version, now thats a challenge. Thanks again to all that have helped, Tim.
  3. Thanks for the info guys. Sad to say it was beyond repair. I can't even begin to think how many hours I had into that one. Hey rookie, what brand of moisture cure clear coat do you use, if you don't mind me asking. If not I understand. I'm building PVC, lipless swimbaits w/ screw eye & hinge pin joint. I use Createx & Auto Borne paint. I can't get any D2T in the joints & I think a spray clear coat would work better. Thanks, Tim.
  4. I was clear coating my first airbrush paint job w/ 30 min. d2t in the garage, about 55-60 degrees & it set up in about 10 minutes. I rushed in the house w/ a hair dryer & fired up the oven to broil, but it was to late. I ended up w/ large ripples/waves on my lure. I know, welcome to the club. My question is, can I sand down my lumpy lure after it dries & coat it again? "WOW this one hurts". Thanks, Tim.
  5. Thanks for the feedback Bob & Bassman, I appreciate it, Tim.
  6. Do I need to seal my paintjob, before I coat it w/ D2T???? I did get some transparent base coat, but not sure that will work. It's my first airbrush paint job & I've heard someone talking about the epoxy eating the paint. Any help would be great. Another question is, do you guys preffer to epoxy the bill/lip in when you top coat or after coating. Thanks in advance, Tim.

very nice whittler, I was checking out your gallery photos, keep up the great work. I'd love to see some swim video's!
  11. Thanks you guys. Is the createx extender the same as a reducer? Whats your favorite createx colors?
  12. What size tip do you guys recommend for using createx paint? My brush has a .2mm & .3mm tip. I also got some createx extender. I ordered some primary, translucent, iridescent, flourescent & pearl colors. This is all new to me but I've been trying to do my homework here on TU. Thanks in advance. Tim.
  13. Rookie, that was great, you just made my holiday. Thanks to all of you who have helped me along the way. Without you guys I'd still be trying to figure out so many different variables w/ this challenging hobby. Just looking @ the gallery reminds me I'm surrounded by true talent. This site is the encylopedia of lure making. "MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL AND TO ALL A GOOD NIGHT" P.S. My airbrush just came in the mail. Man I am going to have a ton of questions for you guys, right after looking in the search forum. Thanks again CA Delta

    Foil Bluegill

That is the best bluegill I've seen, the detail is awsome. Truely talanted. A step by step tutorial on that paintjob would be priceless!!!
  17. Has any one tried or used this as a reducer? I saw this recommended on an airbrush website. Whats your favorite? I should mention this is for water based acrylics. - 1 cup water - 1/2 cup rubbing alcohol - 1/4 cup windex - 5 drops of glycerine

    "repaint"

Hey Mark, I can't agree w/ you enough. I do a lot of homework when purchasing something nice & everywhere I look, whether it's here @ TU or airbrush websites, the Iwata HP-C Plus is the work horse of this industry. Q&A 1. Do I need a 1/4" NPT male connector for my airbrush hose? 2. I Have the standard 1/4" quick connect @ the compressor, will that work? 3. Do the hoses mostly come in NPT or something different. I here a lot of guys having trouble w/ this. 4. Which one Iwata HP-C Plus or the Hi-Line HP-CP

    "repaint"

Thanks again for the kind words. I just picked up an air compressor yesterday. It has an air regulator & I'm putting on the moisture trap today. I'm looking @ the Iwata HP-C Or the PS900. .3mm tip. Any thoughts for some just getting there first compressor, what would you get next?

    "repaint"

Thank you for the kind words you guys. I am in the presence of true talent on this website & I highly respect your opinions. I've looked @ the gallery after talking w/ all of you & realize how much blood, sweat & tears that everybody puts into this. All of you truly make this look really easy & let me be the one to say that it's not. Thanks for the different outlook on these lures. Now that I think about it bublegum does work when your in the right place @ the right time.
