Patina is a term for a tarnished or oxidized layer on metals , in particular brass or the verdigris on copper . Also used for any old and worthy stuff , ......probably a kind of "dust of the ages" , .........basically a kinda layer of maturity and /or decence , in a purely positive meaning . Some gourmets also use it for the dried layers or even mold on mature cheese loafs . Did not google it , .....just trying to explain with my average knowledge of the English language , .........but , heck , ......never heard it as a girl's forename , LOL ! Cheers , diemai

Top lure is made from PVC , the lower one lathe-turned from a piece of willow or hazel(don't remember) . On the timber lure I've applied a black base coat and shaded back and belly and also did some stripes on the flanks with pastel chalks , .......the chalks looked pretty bright at first , but after I'd sprayed on some acrylic clear from a rattlecan , a good portion of the color pigments seem to have vanished , ....by now I've got myself some special artists fixative spray especially made for chalks , ....still intend to get deeper into chalk painting on lures , ....my gratitudes to Vic(littleriver) for this ! greetz , Dieter

I like these Australian style deep divers pretty much , .........they really generate a throb in the rod tip , also hardly snag up due to their big lips , ..........presently working on some alikes , but equipped with lexan lips , ......I'm almost sure , that these might even perform better , as I could balance them to float up at about level , impossible with these heavier aluminium lips . greetz , diemai

These two minnow baits have lips , that I've got from a Finnish friend , ......very common for lures from over there northern Europe . The silver one swims a bit too lively , almost overturns , ...but as it seems , it might make up for an attractive twitchbait . I'm sure to be able to improve the actions of some of my latest lures once I have a chance to tune them in the outdoors . greetz , diemai

Yeah , darn right you are , Vic , ..... I've always thought , that after 45 years of paying the fees for the federal pension insurance one could quit without any withdrawals , but that is way out of time , a very old settlement from the 1980's ..........up to 2011 it was the age limit of 65 , no matter how many years one has worked past the 45 years limit . Since 2012 they've raised the age limit to 67 years , ...step by step depending which year someone was born , .....so my vintage 1961 falls under 66 1/2 years of age to receive full pension . OFF COURSE one could quit a few years earlier , there are special regulations for such cases , ..... but only to suffer from significant monetary losses on the pension , which everybody knows to be the REAL purpose of these new restrictions , ..........and politicians are already talking about another age deadline of 69 ! They're saying that due to modern medical treatment people are getting older nowadays , thus also can work longer ,.........only problem is , that less and less people receiving only a small pension can afford it without severe savings on quality of life , ..........and if I look at the obituary notices on the blackboard of my company , hardly anybody having worked in the production halls made it beyond 70 to 75 years of age(I even used to know three or four guys , that passed away during the first two years of retirement being still in their 60's) , ....the folks having spend their working life in offices most likely pass their 80th birthday with ease , .......been observing this for many years . The funny thing about it is , that in Germany it's so darn hard to find a job once having passed the 50th birthday , ....local employees prefer twens with at least 30 years of job experience ! greetz , Dieter

............I was wrong about the 13 years I've stated above , our government pushed through a new law , it would be 16 1/2 years left to go , ........at least if I don't wanna take withdrawals from my pension . cheers , diemai

Thanks a lot , Vic , ......tomorrow I'd probably have a chance obtaining that chalk fixative ,.... wish me luck to find it in that shop I have in mind ! ...yeah , and it's true , for some types of lures the tub really is too small , LOL ! Certainly I don't mind anybody to make his own versions of my lures , .....I'm a strictly hobbyist , no commercial background , LOL ! That lure is also just turned on a lathe , one only has to leave the head portion thick like on all of the other "WeightShifter" baits , .....second step would be to cut the lip slot and utilize that one as a level reference to taper the narrow the sides of the head on furnish the curved downward nose portion , .........first sanding them down angular on a belt sander or sanding disc and after rounding off with a Dremel sanding drum and finally by hand-sanding , .......might need a belly weight for more stable running , as I've mentioned in the video . Cheers , Dieter

Two more of this experimental bunch of lures , ........a brown trout pattern and a perch pattern . The perch pattern has been painted on a light grey modelmaking enamel base with pastel chalks , ......TU member "littleriver" had introduced this method to me and I'm surely gonna have some more go's on it , once I could obtain a proper fixative spray from an artist's supply shop to bond the chalks prior to topcoating , .......used a rattlecan with acrylic clear for this little perch , but I'm not too satisfied with the results , it blew off too much of the chalk's pigments , as it seems . Thanks again for pointing out , Vic , ........greetz , Dieter
