@ tauruck If you don't wanna look around for some special materials , you could cut the bristles from ordinary flat paint brushes as well ,.... on my first (and only , so far) swimbait I have done this as well , even tried to achieve a striped fin pattern by utilizing natural colored and black bristles . Further describtions in a thread , that I had opened long time ago : "swimbait , very first attempt" . good luck , diemai:yay:

@ rotorhead Good choice about SSt screw eyes , the ones made of brass are not as sturdy by far , .....even had them snapped off , when twisting them into too small pilot holes in hardwood ! As far as I am concerned , there are three different diameters of SSt screw eyes available , also different shaft lengths , have a look in the download catalog of Welcome to Moore's Lures , all dimensions are stated in there . Once I have also bought the tickest diameter screw eyes at "Stamina's , but with a shaft length of 2" (designed to hold prop blades) ,..... these where the longest , that I've ever seen . You need to make your choice of screw eyes after your target species , lure size and lure material ,..... f.e. would be useless to use the smallest diameter screw eyes for big muskie lures , ........in softer woods the threaded shank should be longer for a better grip , ......etc.! I always epoxy them in , anyway , ....I'd extend their pilot hole a bit at its entry , so that a kinda "glue-plug" could evolve there . good luck , diemai:yay:

@ hazmail Surely it would have something to do with that , Pete ......some days ago I received an Email to remind me that my subscribtion was about to expire , even though the subscribtion fee had been automatically withdrawn from my PayPal account three or four days before(got an announcement mail from PayPal) . I gave notice to Jerry and he got it fixed instantly . You also don't appear as a TU club member anymore , the system has already kicked you out , obviously your payment has not been booked for some reason , better Email Jerry under tu@tackleunderground.com to check this out ! greetz , Dieter

@ ricam Don't know , if this is of any help ,....... but there was a thread recently on an Australian site where someone posted some unpainted "Rapala's", they called'em "Nudies" , ......it was also stated there , that these were put out in the US as well , but did not sell well . greetz , diemai:yay:

@ golfs321 I had have it happen with only particular colors as well , some kind of one-component topcoat(called PUR topcoat in German) only wrinkled metallic spraypaints , but not other colors of same brand . greetz , diemai:yay:

@ golfs321 I'd second to Mavrick:yes: ,...... I had have that happen even with two different brands of paints , but both solvent based spray paints . Some topcoats can spoil your paint job as well , so always try before for compatability , wait for a day to see what would happen(I had lures looking alright at first , wanted to proceed about 24 hrs later and had to face the mess) . And it does not matter , whether on plastic , wood or raisin lures , it's just the paint ! good luck , diemai:yay:

@ atrophius I assume that you are refering to the flat-bodied type on page 16 of my gallery uploads , that I have named "Rolf's Wiggler" ,...... as I have uploaded another elongated simple pullbait on page 19 , which is made after a pattern download from :-:-: Lure Making :-:-: The Official LureMaking.com Website | Tackle Components | Lure Components | Lure Making Information | Lure Making Supplies , a Canadian component mailorder company . Anyway , that "Rolf's Wiggler" has a weight embedded into deepest part of belly to let it hang afloat at rest with just the back sticking out a bit at horizontal level . I fish it with long sweeps , it would than swing left-right a few times ,...... as the sweep ends and the line gets slack , it would dart just a little(maybe 1 1/2 body lengths) 90

@ Vodkaman Very nice of you to raise your voice for the common people , which certainly are of the same kind all over the world , ......they just wanna care about themselves and their loved ones , look after progress , income , success , peace , health , etc . for their families , all in all try their best to lead a happy life . Terrorists of any bad intention do not commit their evil deeds for or against one particular matter , religion or nation , even though they always claim to do , but fight against all of us common people . We could easily do without them , but unfortunately they cannot exsist without us trying to spoil our efforts to lead happy and peaceful lives . greetz , diemai:yay:

@ atrophius Such lures usually have a very "soft" action , when cranked , meaning that they would not wiggle rapidly like a lipped crankbait but rather come back in an irregular wave pattern , but with rod tip manipulation you can get some more out of them ,.... most likely . If you want an improved wiggling action on straight retrieve , you need to achieve that by the body shape , which has to be curved downward in that case , the greatest extreme of this would be a "Banana" style lure(posted threads and gallery pics about these) . Also I had found , that lures with a somehow "stepped face" , meaning , that they have more than only one plane , ("Swimming Mouse" , "Bomber", etc . check my earlier gallery uploads for my knock-offs , there are also more of other members in the gallery) , have a more rapid wiggle compared to such with only a single headplane . These kinda baits were amongst my earliest lures , just spindle-shaped with a tail taper and an about 45

@ LooksLikeSinbad Thanks a lot for those links(though I could not open up "Bass Fishing Forums" , wrong server ???) , they are very informative , just had a brief look-over ! That guy there really did a lot of tinkering to rig the boat to his own demands , really love it . He made it look just great and very professional with the added boards to make up for a plane deck and all the racks and holders on board . Couldn't stop myself looking at those pictures . Those little problems about the oars I can overlook , I would not use them a lot and one can surely get something fixed . Also soft screws won't be a problem . If I understood right , the rear seat is a bit higher than the front , since there is a kind of extension mounted to that one ? I am getting to like that "FoldCat" more and more , but some more drawbacks are , that the shipping charge to Europe would be about 350$ to 400 $ I suppose , plus the local IRS would rip me off for another 19% VAT plus 4% Eurotax , taken on merchandise value PLUS shipping charge , .......so this would increase the price a real big bit . Never found something similar locally , and even if I would , it would not be cheaper , anyway . Just painful somehow seeing the sales price in $ , and divide it by 1,3 (

Hi , folks , Just came across this one on the web , and it seems to come in quite handy for my fishing demands . FoldCat Inflatable Catamaran Sea Eagle FoldCat Review 375fc Fishing Inflatable Trout Bass Don't have such over here , .......even the local distributor of "Seaeagle" , only running a shop on Ebay , does not offer these in there . Presently me and my wife are using a foldable "Banana-Boat"(German made model utilizing same principle like "Porta-Bote") , we've been using it for more than 13 years now . This "FoldCat375fc" seems to assemble equally fast to my present small boat , but obviously it is a bit bigger , more stable to stand/sit on it , the seats are more comfortable as just row benches and generally one sits a bit higher above water level . Transport seems to be easier than with the boat , that I have now , since once assembled , that "FoldCat" just rolls up and fits in it's bag , no need to extra carry a couple of seatbenches around , all is in one bag ! Also I won't have to hump it on the roof rack anymore but just slide it through the back door of our pick-up . All accessories like paddles , outboard motor , tackle boxes , rods , rod holders , sonar , anchor , landing net, etc. , I'd have to carry and assemble/store to the boat anyway , no matter of what type ,...... so that won't make any difference . I am wondering , why all the pictures/videos in that links above were shot in more or less calm conditions ,..... and this is one drawback , that I am concerned about ! Maybe that boat would not be suited for rough waters in windy weather(most successful predator fishing in these conditions over here) ,......I am refering to short waves of up to about 1 1/2 feet(as white spray starts to evolve on top of them) and long waves of 2 1/2 feet height(on big lakes) . And how would it act , when crossing the waves generated at the stern of passing bigger boats(6 to 8 mph) ? These are the conditions , that my present boat can handle , more or less , though not very convinient and a wet affair sometimes(water splashing inside) , .....wouldn't like to have any drawback on that issues . I know , that inflatables are pretty much affected by wind , exhausting to row in windy weather , but most likely I'd be using a gas outboard 3,3 HP , so no problem about that . In that review at "TackleTour" they wrote , that the person in front might also get wet in rough weather , .....I am also wondering , why the front seat is lower than the rear one , .......or it is just set that way ? Does not seem to be that comfortable to sit as low with angled knees(at least not to me) . Another drawback is how to store tackleboxes and sonar on those single deckboards , ..., I'd be afraid , that these could slide overboard(I am most like using a bigger "Plano" suitcase-like box plus a slender pouch with inside tubing for longer crankbaits) . Would not like to strap these , since I'd always like to have rapid access , so I am thinking , one could build some platforms of plywood or aluminium sheet with 90

@ bassrecord Can't get such shows over here , ......the way , that I imagine them to be like , would be against moral customs over here , they would not show such on TV..........not yet we've got that far ! We have similar as well , but to a weaker degree , I guess ,...... no personality rights of anybody must be offended , even not of suspects . But they also show a few of American police videos in some programs , either chasing down criminals or interviewing suspects in murder cases , etc. , ........but these are all imported and often more than a decade old , .........nothing like that from our own local police , .....it would be against the law to show REAL cases in public , ......and if they do , they would replay it with actors and name changes . If there are local cases shown , they won't show no suspects in details , only if the person was convicted by a legal court , they'd probably show the official police pictures , not much more than that . No interview videos broadcasted , most of the programs are re-acting and interviews with police officers , attorneys , coroners , whitnesses , etc. ,..... personality rights of offenders and victims alike are kept more over here as probably in the States . Anyway , but I see point in that honesty and moral don't have a good stand anymore nowadays , its all about money and success . Small guys constantly see big guys easily getting away with ruthlessness , immorality , cheating and lying , just for their own benefit , .........so they'd think to themselves , "why not doin' the same thing , if I'd have a chance ?"..........sooner or later it becomes the declaration of bankruptcy for a social society . We have a proverb in German saying as much as "the fish stinks from down the head" , ......much truth about it , I guess ! Sorry for little OT , ......greetz , diemai:yay:
