  1. If I read it right the mold has to be kept in a sealed plastic bag and is only good for a few days.
  2. There are so many uses for these you wont believe it until you get one. I kept mine form my HVAC years and I still use it all the time. Fishing, BBQ, automotive use, messing with the kids, you can even check the R-value of your walls with one. Cheap entertainment. LOL
  3. Jim, Well thats great to hear. Like I said, could have been my spam filter or something. $600.00 ouch! A bit out of range for my small level. But that tends to be what happens when you jump up to an industrial grade product also. For someone on a larger scale it may be worth it.
  4. Have you been able to get any info on them? I have tried without success to contact them. And I believe there have been others that have also. I just gave up and figured it wasnt worth my time. Thought it was kind of odd since they pay to advertise on this site though. Figured they would at least return emails. If anyone else was able to contact them maybe my spam filter blocked them or something. I hate to make an accusation when something else could have happened.
  5. With a presto pot that is contantly stirring you will get more of an accurate reading also than just an idle pot of plastic. The stirring pot will have an almost even temp throughout the entire batch including the surface.
  6. Unless any one of you have ever owned or ran a forum of any kind you dont have any clue what the owner or moderators are going through. We all need to just relax, Make our suggestions to them and do our own best to follow the rules and just help then where and how we can. Jerry told us how we can help by reporting the post. Lets just do that for now. Dave has an excellent suggestion about making the rules easier to find. I can garrantee Jerry has read his post since he posted in this thread so let the admin decide on it. If the main posters here do our best to follow the rules and report the posts that dont, maybe order will follow. Maybe not. But then the admin will make a decision on what to do next. Whatever they do someone iss not going to be happy, so put yourself in there shoes. And in the mean time if we need to pick on someone lets all pick on Mark!
  7. Brokeback photos Please dont post any Mark.
  8. I agree with Jamie and Dave. When I want it, I will buy it. I may never fish it, but I will drop $100.00 on a bait in a second if the craftsmanship is there or it means something to me. Obviously a guy cant do this everyday, so they are something special when you get them. But then again special doesnt have to be expensive either. I have a rapidly expanding collection of plastic baits going on my shelves in my shop and they are special also. It all depends on whats important to you. We are all different and all want something different out of this hobbie and out of life itself.
  9. Mine is the pac bay wrapper that I turn mine on. Cork is soft so anything turning it relatively fast will work.
  10. When I first started building rods I purchased them premade. Then when I purchased my rod turner I started making my own and I havnt purchased any for rods since that were going to be sold. When we do the kids rod build in the spring we were given a deal last year on premade cork handles we couldnt turn down so I did purchase them, but for a paying customer, I wouldnt.
  11. Has anyone tried dropping in boiling water for a bit and then hanging over something flat to dry? I have not had the problem but that is what I would try with a small section first.
  12. What a coincidence.LOL Permagloss is exactly what I was thinking of using for the clear. In fact I have the brand new bottle sitting in front of me that just came in today. I am going to do a few with full length marbling, and then I thought I may try to do some this way, but thought I would ask first. I have a bunch of pieces laying around to play with first to get the bugs out and see what the best way to do it will be. Any other words of warning before I dive in would be appreciated.
  13. I can not believe these guys are located less than 100 miles from me and I have never heard of them. Thanks for the link Adam.
  14. "If I go with option A wouldn't that effectively make it 320 CFM?" Yes it could. If they are vented correctly. Meaning the vent is sized correctly, not to long, not to many elbows, ect... Some people have the misconception that you can pipe both hoods into one 6" pipe then run that pipe 40 feet acrossed their basement up and around a half dozen water pipes and wires that happen to be in the way and think you still have 320 cfm. It dont work that way. You may get a duct sizing chart with the hood, or ask on the board here. There are a couple of us who have done that for a living. One of us could probably size you duct for you with a bit of info.
  15. Bob, I am thinking about attempting this type of a finish the entire length of a fishing rod. Do you think it would be possible?
  16. I have the Pac Bay Wrapper. I am happy with it. If you look around you should be able to find it with a additional dryer and stand.
  17. My opinion is, and thats all it is is an opinion. When you sell your first bait to a tackle shop, or online. Friends and family, I wouldnt count.
  18. Thats the one of the drawbacks of going from hobby to small buisiness. At some point there is work involved. If you dont want to do it, or are not ready to do it, then you should probably keep it as a hobby. Otherwise the fun can go away real fast.
  19. I am working on that right now. I purchased Dels 9"jerk bait mold a few weeks ago and am experimenting with different placement of hooks and weights in the head before I decide to modify the mold itself to take the harness. It was a discounted mold so I am a little less worried about modifying it than I would be normally. Hopefully I can finish before the water gets hard. The pond behind the house is froze over already so I had better hurry. The Lake wont be to far behind.
  20. Thats the Rookie we are all used to. And I agree with everything you said. But after reading my post I also would hate to discourage anyone from trying anything they feel they are up to. I have been doing this as long as some here and am nowhere near as talented as they are. So every one progresses differently. Just be aware of what you are in for. Good Luck and above all else have fun!
  21. I only clicked on this thread to read Rookies response. What a disappointment. Hope everythings OK Rookie. I wont be tackling this project anytime soon. I am just happy with finding out my nonjointed plugs dont work.
  22. Everyone has about covered it all. Keep it fun. If it can pay for the gas in the boat. Bonus! Whatever you do, Dont sell something you dont fish !!!! The biggest problem I have is someone not knowing their products.
