  1. What is the purpose of adding the salt after the baits are finished ZBass?
  2. If you do a search on this site the info should be here. I have not done it myself but remember reading either a post or tutorial on it using PVC pipe to form the mold, then filled with RTV around the master. Then using Alumalite to pour the actual blanks of the baits. I am next to positive this site is where I have seen this process at. It may just take some searching to find it.
  3. Nope no way is this addicting. But I will tell you a gallon of plastic sure dont go very far.
  4. Thats cuz we is a high tech web site here Adam. Welcome.
  5. Does anyone have any experience with the badger model 360 airbrush? My sons birthday is next month and I am thinking its time for his own brush. Plus I am tired of sharing.
  6. Has anyone here ever tried molding a flourocarbon leader into a bait? I have a bait I am going to try to make a mold of but I dont like the way it is rigged just from the nose. I would like there to be another hook farther back on it and I fish mainly for Pike so it would need a strong leader material between the 2 hooks but soft enough not to hurt the action of the plastic bait. I was thinking flourocarbon, but thinking the hot plastic would melt it or at least alter its structure enough to probably lose its strength. Any other Ideas besides wire?
  7. It dont work. Tried it. She broke it all down for me a few weeks ago to explain to me that it still dont pay for my fishing. I told her its a new buisiness. Its only been 2 years. Your supposed to lose money for the first 5, Right? I have 3 more before I need a different story.
  8. I am trying to remember this off the top of my head from my rod building decal info. So this may or may not be correct but check into it before committing to it completely. One issue with clear Decal paper and ink jet printers is printing the color white. I am not sure why but the fix for my Rod decals was to order white decal paper and then print the decal. It then has to be spray with a clear coat and let dry before you do the transfer or the ink smears. If you want more detailed info, I can dig it out of my peperwork somewhere as I am typing this from memory as I went through this a couple years ago.
  9. Absolutely beautifull work!!!! What more can be said.
  10. Any Flyfishing store as stated above or Cabelas, Sportsman wharehouse, Bass pro etc. They may be labled as Zonker strips for those who dont flyfish lol.

Rod turning replacement moters from Cabelas or Mudhole are close to $13.00. They are what I use. Cheap and they will last you a year or 2 on continuous operation. And when I say continuous I mean I have a couple that have never been turned off except for power outages. The turners are even loaded wile turning.(Blame it on poor design and lack of correct parts when I needed them).
  12. Anyone here want to join me in spending our winter in Australia?
  13. Recieved mine yesterday. Thanks a bunch!!!
  14. A couple people have asked to see the article with my son and his pike in it and our local paper does not post to the internet so I scanned it in and this is the best i could do. Hopefully the picture is clear enough to see that half the tail is missing from a fight with something bigger that we are still after. But needless to say Alex is hooked for life. I was laying in bed last week and I overheard him talking to his mom saying it was the most fun summer he has ever had. With the health problems I have had over the last 5 years and having to face up to having to leave a job that I loved at the age of 33, and go on disability this summer was a huge accomplishment for us both.

Ellie, Welcome to TU. I understand completely not wanting to give out personal info on the internet. But stick with this site and you will find soon enough who you are comfortable with. A great bunch of people here and they truly do just want to help. At the top of the page you will find a search feature. It is amazing the info that is available on this site. A person can literaly take an aspect of this hobby such as pouring plastic and never ask a question and pour a perfect worm on the first pour if you want to read and search. You are starting out on a bit harder part of the hobby but in some peoples opinion more fun and rewarding. Some people are Masters with spray paint and others do beatifull airbrush work. So jump in and dont get discouraged. And above all have fun. Shane
  16. Dont mean to hijack this thread but I cant find that worm on your site Jim. I woul love to try that behind my spinner bait on pike. Send me a PM or an email if you would like.
  17. I am venturing into a couple of things. One being plastics. I started at the middle of the summer and it was supposed to be just a bit of a fun thing for me and Alex. Like everything else, I went way overboard andd now I have several people wanting them. Then they went and told the tackle shops that sell my rods and other baits I was making them. Then Alex went and caught the Big Pike and made the Paper and well you know. I am also finishing up my first Bamboo fly rod. I just am not sure that I have the patience that it takes to go into producing these to sell a good quality product. So I think I aam scrapping that Idea but I will post picts of the one I made just to brag and say I did one.
  18. Actually spike I have some that are vacuum sealed in the garlic/veg oil now. They are sitting on the shelf in my room and are going be opened over the next several months. Two reasons. #1 I want to know how well the garlic gets into the plastic and how long it takes the scent to leave it after they are opened. #2 I want to know if the Vegtable oil breaks down the plastic at all before I fail with this on a larger more expensive scale.
  19. Thats not a Captain Action is it?
  20. Oh man this sounds like fun. More dangerous chemicals mixed together with metals, electricity, and water. What could possibly go wrong here.:?Looks like I am going to try it.
  21. I can admit it. Everything I look at I envision with a hook in it somehow somway. Or else I am trying to figure out how it would swim. Speaking of swimming I am using the internet down at our local bar and grill. You all should check out the shape of these salt and pepper shakers.
  22. Now I know why us Montanans cuss the Californians. Its because we are jealous. I want some.
  23. Thanks for extending this Mike. I placed my order of a few of each style you had to offer. I will be back for more when I decide which are my favorites if you still carry those models.
