  1. I will see if I can swing it. But im sending money out to bojon for his ebook, need to figure out what I need to order from Del. Then I need to figure out How I am going to go for melting my stinking plastic. I tell ya what after all that I will send ya what my wife says I have left over. Oh yeah forgot the Seeley Kids fishing tourny in June that Alex and I are donating 40 rods to. So wont be much left for the beer drinking fund.
  2. Happy birthday guys! Bruce must be hungover from celebrating Novas nonbirthday yesterday since he hasnt showed up yet.
  3. Im in no way involved in this one way or another, but sounds like a fair enough explanation to me. Maybe just a miscomunication or misunderstanding. It takes a stand up guy and a stand up buisiness to come out in public when he wasnt even mentioned and want to clear this up. Im just getting interested in plastics but Dels gonna get my buisiness when i do.
  4. With all the problems that arise with bubbles forming in epoxy top coats I have been wondering if drying our bits in a vacuum box or a pressure box would solve that problem? Has anyone ever tried either of these methods? Or can anyone think of any reason it would not work? Batery operated turners are already available in the rod building industry so it can still be turning while drying. But under enough pressure the air bubbles should be crushed. Or under a vacuum should be removed.
  5. bojon, would like to purchase your ebook and dvd if possible. do you take paypal? let me know. Either pm me or email. montanafishingrods@live.com Thats the email linked to my paypal acount also if you can send an invoice. I dont know how you do it. Thanks Shane

  6. I like it! The only suggestion I have is when you get it to swim right.I suggest you make another one to sell to me. I have an empty spot on a shelf that would look real good on.
  7. And with that price tag it takes a giant leap out of the hobby category! You will have just bought yourself a job my friend. Maybe the wife and kids would like to learn how to pour? The conversation could start by saying honey, I think we need to do more things together as a family.
  8. No it really doesnt. I just like it when it all fits on the screen without having to scroll for a half mile. Oh well Im done. I will do better next time.
  9. Thanks for the tip. That would have fixed it. Its just not going to let me change them for nothing. Sorry guys.
  10. Yeah I know. And sorry about the huge picts. Trying to resize them. Having issues with between flash player, internet explorer, and photobucket not liking each other. I will try to fix this huge post as quick as I can.
  11. Whatever you do, dont listen to Bruce and put the airbrush down. :)No reason you cant airbrush powder paints. Just need a different brush is all. More tools more tools more tools.
  12. Well this isnt really a homemade but it kind of fits into this category. Its a Calf casterating tool. You put a small rubber band on it, stretch it out and place over the testicles. In a few days they drop off and the job is done. Best Skirt expander I have. Cheapest also.
  13. Very nice KB. I like Feather inlays. Fun to do and really dress up a rod. Your handles are great!
  14. My moneys on 227. And I still say the picts show. (The members who have been active hre will of course stay.)
  15. As much as I want to hear the results of the ford bumper test. I have to agree with everyone else. Any foam bait should be through wire construction.
  16. I still have no doubt it was the real deal. Proud father bragging about a story his son told him and he whole heartedly believed. If there is any deception involved and I still am not leaning that way it would be on his sons end, not his. I still say give him time. The Disk is in the mail. Could easily take 3 or 4 days not including weekend. I am convinced the pictures will come. With all the #### that has been thrown his way he has taken it like a man. Hasnt just dropped off into cyberspace like it would have been so easy to do. He showed up day after day and debated and took everyones comments, not backing down from anyone. Why do that if you had no intentions of posting the picts to back your story up? Sorry but I have seen the BS fish storys also. This does not strike me as one of them. The picts are comming.
  17. I wanna see picts, so get that cammera ready.
  18. Braveviper, You da man! I can give my brain a much needed rest.
  19. Only thing better than making Baits with your son is catching fish on them with him. I know exactly how ya feel jamie. And post them picts and be proud of the MrJ. We all started the same place you did. Absolutely no need to be ashamed of anything.
  20. Heres a real challenge for you plastic experts. I am not really into plastics, but yesterday i found one on the internet that really peaked my interest. But heres the deal, I forgot the name of it. I was spending some time with a friend of mine who is dying from cancer. We were tying flies when he got tired and so I was messing around on the computer and found this site. The bait was a four letter word. Hobo, mojo something of the sort. But I cant seem to find the site again. It was made on the east coast but again I cant remember the name. It was such an easy name I didnt think I would forget, but it wasnt my computer so I didnt save in my computer. And he woke uo and wanted to sit on the deck shortly after I found it so I just closed it out and figured I would look it up at home. Hopefully this is enough info one of you will be able to know what I am talking about. They are 7", 11", 14", 18" and for fresh and Salt water. Came in about 8 different colors I believe. Dont know how to describe the shape other than maybe eel like. Has a good side to side swimming action. Any help would be apreciated.
  21. Heres a good site to get it. Fiberglass , Epoxy , Composites, Carbon Fiber - U.S. Composites, Inc.
  22. Im bettin the bumper falls off of the truck and the lure proceeds to shoot back through the wifes car window.
  23. There are spray on rust removing chemicals available at harware and automotive stores, but I dont have any Idea what they would do to the surface of a mold. Maybe you could try some on a spot thats not in a cavity of the mold first so if it marks the surface the mold isnt ruined.
  24. I have noticed that about Pete just by following the rotating jaws of death thread. There are some brilliant minds working on that one. Which is why I am waiting for the tutorial, I know when Im outmatched. But back to the Bobbin I was thinking that if I made one and had it adjusted the way I wanted the I could just set up my wireformer and use it as a pattern. Should be able to knock out a bunch real quick then and have them fairly accurate. Should know in a couple hours if I can get out of the gallery and get to work.
  25. I have to say it is pretty easy to just spin the dubbing on the thread with your fingers. I have several dubbing tools and I cant tell you the last time I used one. Boy do I feel like a bonehead after seeing how easy it is to make Bruces Bobbins above though. Great idea Bruce. I think i will bend up about 30 of these toniight.
