I have used them in the past. They start out working great but deteriate real fast. In fact I am kind of surprised its not starting after 50 baits. Mine did with far less than that.

Try mixing it without taking your stirrer out of the rod finish and mix slower. That should help if the bubles are being introduced while mixing. Also try aplying a smaller amount of finish at a time. It will take more coats but eliminates the bubbles.
-
Go ahead and microwave it. I havnt ever had an issue with my glitter in the microwave. Mines Dels glitter, but i dont see why the brand would make a difference.

Wow thats a loaded question if I have ever seen one lol. Best plastic is all personal opinion. Check out the stickied thread at the top of the forum. As for the best prices, it all depends on what plastic you choose. And actually you probably wont have much choice as everyone has their own so thats where you need to get that particular plastic. Look in the componant section for a complete list but here are a few suppliers to get you started. Bears Baits Del-Mart Molds lurecraft netcraft m-f manufacturing And i am sure i am missing someone.

Cobra, The other interesting thing is these molds are designed to cool very rapidly. Which means your not sitting around waiting for baits to cool down like you may have been in the past. Bear can give better examples of this than I can, but you can make some pretty rapid progress even without a bunch of molds because of this.

Happy Birthday Jerry!

What Jim (ghost baits) ended up doing was making insulaters for his pyrex cups out of POP. He cut a milk carton in half and set his cup in it and poured pop around it and let it set up. Then used that as an insulator for the cup. There is a thread on here about how exactly he did it step by step. I believe he was pleased with the results.

I think everyone is getting along Milia. Just needed some things clarified it looks like. And no one here holds grudges. They are all here for the same reason. Thats whats great about this site and the people.

Have you thought about trying a hand injector? It may solve the problem.

I know I sound like a broken record here but here I go again. I dont know if this will work for you since its only available in soft but the BBCP plastic from bears baits is the clearest I have seen even after multiple reheats in the microwave. But it is only available in soft so its not a tube plastic. Not really sure what your using it for. Maybe it would work if your just using it to seal colors and eyes. Maybe not, just thought I would mention it. When I say multiple reheats I have done 5 to 6 with no color changes.

Oh come on now Dave. You cant be expected to have to blur out the name on a mask thats posted. Thats going over board. If we need to think for a half hour about how the correct way to refer a product on this board its getting way to strict for me. Whats wrong with the way things have been for the last 2 years? Nobody has had a problem refering anyone to any other buisiness that does or does not support the board. Why now?
-
Wow, I didnt even know there was an issue with my post. This is why I had posted it. I have tried the new BBCP plastic, and since compared to the experience level of most on the soft plastics forum, I consider myself new and pretty qualified to answer his post. I have tried several other plastics and this is by far the easiest for someone of my experience level to pour. Thats it. Plain and simple. Nothing else played into it. Bear dont pay me to advertise for him. I dont get a discount because I talk about his products here. I am just happy with his plastic. I do like a lot of his other products also and will probably talk about them on occasion in the future so I hope this dont ruffle any feathers. Its the same thing we do with Dick Nites, D2T, Etex, Bobs Molds, Dels Molds, Hagens, Lurecraft, Netcraft, Stamina, Skirtsunlimited, Dang I could go on and on right down my favorites list. Bears Baits is just one more of them. Oh yeah his service is great to!!! LOL Add that to my tab Bear.

I guess its breathables for me.

Happy Birthday Jim, Hope you get to do some fishing today.

you will find they both have there place. Zip ties when your in a bind and working b yourself. Wire when you need the extra force to get something into place. A combination of both would be my choice. One isnt any better than the other. Just different applications.
-
Well thats a tough question. I would put a pretty high price on my face, but Richards? Im not so sure.

If you want a great plastic for starting out with, try the BBCP. At Bears Baits It pours great, works awesome out of the microwave. Virtually bubble free. Anyone can pour this stuff. You can also get anything else you need to get started there also but do yourself a favor and at least start with that plastic.

Chipman, I cant even sleep anymore without my CPAP machine. I even went to the extreme of buying the 12 volt adapter so I could run off a battery while camping or durring power outages. Whoever your provider is should be able to get many different styles of masks for you. since the mask and hose actually should be replaced every six months it may be easier in the long run to try a different type of mask for a better fit. I had the same problem as you with leakage in the same spot. It was fixed with a mask that has a almost gelatin like gasket material that now seals perfect. You might also try a search online for different masks.

I have only built 2 boats, but I used bailing wire on one, and plastic zip ties on another one. The stitching is just used to get the wood to bend and stay in place as your building the boat. It does not add any structural integrity to the boat at all. In fact most if not all the stitches are ground off or sanded off durring the fiberglassing.

You will find that the plastic ones will not hold up very well whether your putting pressure on them or not. I have 2 of them and they both have the spiderweb cracks all through them and i have yet to get a good shoot with either of them. My next one will be a bears baits injector. Everyone i know of that has one loves them. They are aluminum and will last. And they are a whole lot safer in my opinion. They are available at Bears Baits There may be others out there as well, but this is my choice. Heres a link to the tutorial on this site using one. http://www.tackleunderground.com/forum/soft-plastics-how/16920-using-hand-injector.html I know this dont help the ones with injection machines though.

I am sorry but I find this very funny. A guy makes a post on here about a so called problem he has while pouring. And we have everyone on the board wanting to recreate his problem. You never know what your going to log on and read here from day to day. lol. I do have to say the sticks look cool.

Headshot, You can purchase their molds and name your bait any name you want to give it. It is done all the time. Smallie, Only certain componants have the excise tax added in so you may or may not get the discount. you need to check. Or you can just have one on file with all your distributors and save the hassle.

"One sock" made a post on here maybe a year ago or so about purposely doing that with baits headshot. If you searched the posts by user name you might be able to find it. He came up with some interesting resuts. If swirl colors work, I dont see why yours wont.

I dont know if anyone noticed the ":twocents:" symbol ofter JSCs comment about purchasing bojons CD. For those who may be new to the boards it means thats his two cents worth. Meaning its only a suggestion. I dont think your going to accomplish much by jumping in the middle of a member such as JSC who has also contributed a lot around this site just for giving you his opinion. Other solutuions were also posted before you decided to make a big deal out of having to purchase something that may actually benefit you. I hope you dont regret that later down the road when it comes to a question dealing with something he has a lot of knowledge in. By the way this is just my:twocents:. So take it as you will, and good luck with your tubes. I think you have decided this already bassbug but I have yet to see anyone use a frydaddy succesfully since I have been here. I have heard of it being done in the past but I think it kind of went by the way side when better pots came along. But who knows I may be mistaken. Someone out there might still use one.
