  1. I've looked at those, but I figured that by the time I burned up a couple of drills, I'd be just well off getting a $100 mini lathe.
  2. Looks great. I'm considering a similar pattern (plus a trout one) for some swimbaits I got from Predator Bass Baits. Gary
  3. If you are going to sell thru a website, take a look at the merchant services from Paypal. Gary
  4. I wondered that myself. The photo is identical.
  5. Is this the same stuff? 2 Oz & 4Oz Products Gary
  6. I just ordered a very similar unit from Lure Craft called the Higen's Bender. Gary
  7. Could you be referring to this unit? Harbor Freight Tools - Quality Tools at the Lowest Prices Gary
  8. I use an old sprayer compressor. It doesn't have a tank so it has to run all the time. Althought they are a bit noisier, I'm told by several sources that the units with tanks are the best way to go. My local Walmart has a Campbell Hausfeld 1 gallon pancake compressor for around $57. I'm considering going with one of them. Gary
  9. My local Harbor Freight Tools is having their sidewalk sale in two weeks. And I get my bonus that same weekend. Gee, what great timing. Gary
  10. My local Harbor Freight has about a dozen syringes of DT2 for $2.50 each. Maybe I need to snatch them up just in case. I sent in an order for clear lure coat into Dick Nite, but haven't received it yet. Gary
  11. Look at sites like NOLO.com, Legalzoom.com and Intuit.com and follow the incorporation (LLC) links. Obviously they are in the business to sell you something, but they do a pretty good job of explaining the pros and cons of incorporating vs staying a proprietorship. For various fees, these companies will complete your forms and file them with the state and provide your needed documentation. In addition to any fees they charge, there will be a fee paid to the state for incorporation (in Georgia, it's $100). Gary
  12. I can't paint either, but I seldom let a lack of skill stop me. Compared to some of the true artists on this site, my lures are very simple schemes with a gray belly to black back or chartruse belly to a green back. Do a search on 'Rattle can". A lot of folks are doing great jobs with a spray can and not making the investment in airbrush equipment. I'm currently working on a trout pattern with some blanks I bought from another member of the forum. Gary
  13. I'm ordering the 'starter kit' from Smooth-on. It comes with the Smooth Cast 300, OOMOO, release agent and a training DVD for around $50. I'm going to order a small package of Featherlite at the same time. Check out this link on Smooth-on's site for a luremaker using the products. http://www.smooth-on.com/gallery.php?galleryid=135&cPath=1271 Gary
  14. My Paasche H model seems to be happiest at 25 - 30 psi. I use hobby acrylic paints thinned with 1/3 water. I keep a spare bottle of a 50/50 mix of water and window cleaner to flush out the airbrush between colors along with a good cleaning after each use. Gary
  15. Looks good. Do you order it direct or is it available locally? Walmart has apparently discontinued DT2, but I can get it at my local Harbor Freight Tools. Gary
  16. I'm new to making wooden lures, but a woodworker buddy of mine built me a golf ball rack from cedar about 10 years ago. He simply cut down cedar planks from the local home store and planed them to 3/8" x 2". Then he put a clear varnish over it. It has hung on the wall all these years loaded with golf balls with no warping or sagging at all. I'd consider that pretty stable. The same type cedar is used to make strip canoes then covered with fiberglass cloth and holds up exceptionally well. Gary
  17. It might have been something line the Dick Nite lure coating. Watch the banner at the top of the forum. He advertises regularly here. Click the banner to get instructions for some pretty significant discounts for TU Members. Gary
  18. That was my thought also. That much organization is scary. Very nice job.
  19. I keep a spare bottle of a 50/50 mix of water and window cleaner. I run it thru the gun between colors and a good flushing after each use. This seems to really help. Be sure to run just air after the flushing to clean out and dry the gun out. Gary
  20. I have a new Paasche H model that shows 20-30 psi as the normal operating pressure. It also has a note to not exceed 75 psi. Paasche's websit is Paasche Airbrush Company - Airbrushes - Compressors - Airbrush Tanning - Airbrush Tattoos - Spray Booths - Spray Guns - Airbrush Tanning Spray Guns - Spray Booths - Spray Gun Kits - Airbrush Tanning and email is info@paascheairbrush.com. You might drop them a note to see if they can send you a manual if you don't have one. Happy spraying. Gary
  21. For you guys with the Outdoor Channel. Watch for the show "Legends of Rod and Reel". Larry is the guy being profiled this week. Gary
  22. Sorry, can't get it to open. Just comes up to a black acrobat.com splash screen. Gary
  23. Dude. You're good. Those are great looking baits. Gary
