awesome job. I totally believe you. i'm new to luremaking and can't get myself to dish out the cash for an abrush just yet. i'd like to be able to do the same on my baits using rattle cans. in fact i've already purchased some. one question... how do you hold/position your stencils to get that faded effect? it seems to me that holding it too close to the lure will result in sharped-edged lines that wouldn't look as good.

Hi, I'm John, 25, from Alameda, CA (SF Bay Area). First off, thanks to all of you for the wealth of info on this site. I appreciate your willingness to share. Before stumbling upon this site a little over a week ago I had no plans whatsoever on making my own lures. But, the site and the lures posted in the gallery are just so awesome, i just had to give it a shot. so i've started on my first one...we'll see how that turns out. I'v only started fishing a few years ago while i was a student at cal. I like to fish for (and catch) striped bass and halibut in the bay, and bass, crappie and trout in the local lakes and reservoirs. anyhow, most my city sliker friends just can't get excited over this kind of stuff, so i'm really glad i've found this site and the folks who post on it. :john
