I'm looking for a hook to use pouring heads from Do It Style 9 Shad Head molds. I pour 1/4, 3/8, 1/2, & 3/4 and am looking at the 1 & 1.5 possibly. What I want is a somewhat shorter shank and a black nickel finish if possible. Think Big Hammer jig heads and you'll know what I'm looking for. Does such an animal exist??

I'm about to buy a Do It Pro Series 1262 to pour round head jigs with ring and barb collar to pour A-Rig heads. This is a 1/4 oz round head using Eagle Claw 630/635 hooks per Do It. Is there another hook, Gamakatsu, Mustad, Owner, ????, that will work in this mold? I haven't pulled the trigger just yet because of this, the Eagle Claws are a bit long for the baits I want to use and I'm not sure what other hooks will work properly in this mold. It appears the Gama 114 or the Owner 5313 might be viable replacements, are there any others??

Since I'm about to start building my own bass jigs I'm watching this thread with interest. I've tied flies and crappie jigs for quite a while now but bass jigs are "new ground" for me.
