3. You could mix pearl pigment into D2T and make even drops on something slick, that the D2T will not stick to and then dot in the pupil.
4. Hay Rayburnguy, I've sanded down clear DD 22's and Bomber 9A's. Mix a little createx paint in D2T and brushed it on. Mix the paint to how much light you want to come through. It works goood!
5. My wife ask me why I like to bassfish so Much? I told her that it must be something in the water.

6. I don't think it will stay on. Go to Lurecraft.com they have plastic paint that works great. Easy to stray and use. Make sure to use the retarder with it, 2/3 paint 1/3 retarder. There's even a clear coat that you can use. I mix Pearl Ex with my clear and lay down some good looking colors. http://www.lurecraft.com/catalog.cfm/plastic-products/paint-for-plastic-lures (copy and paste this this site it will take you stray to it)
7. I use the plastic paints from lurecraft and it does a good job. Just remeber to order retarder to slow the drying down some. I've been painting frogs and I too, want to clear coat ,so they have that bass magic look. What are you clearing your soft platics with? Were can I find a clear coat for soft plastics?
8. Yes, I've aready gone back to D2T. I've gotten fairly good at brushing it on. I was just looking for something more user friendly. Done two lures and was not happy at all. Just wasted money on the other stuff, That"s live and learn LOL. Waiting for DN to come back out, the way everybody talks, it might be just what I'm looking for. Thanks for all the help TU.
9. When I put it on it leaves little fisheyes all over the lure. I'm putting it over the top of createx, I'm just going to go back to D2T until I can get some DN. Will DN go over Createx and give me that deep gloss I'm looking for?
10. Just got done with my first trial of epoxy for CS coating. Did not turn out as good and slick as D2T but alot thinner coat. Is there any tricks to putting CS epoxy on, are do I need to use their seal coat first?
11. Sorry for taking so long to reply, work had me out. It's not glue it's two ton epoxy. As two ton epoxy dries or cures, it gets sticky and when it gets sticky thats when I put the foil on it.
12. Here's one here with the cigerette foil. I don't think I'm spelling that right, but I don't smoke LOL!
13. One thing that I've done is to white out me lure. Then cut out the foil from a cigerette package. The foil from the cigerette package has a pattern on it already. Them put on a layer of 2TE. Just before it's dry lay your preshaped foil on your lure, It's like glue and it takes some pratice too. The only thing bad is the paper under the foil will soak up the 2TE and give you a ridge to smooth out. In other words you have to use more 2TE too get it looking good. You can lay your foil on while the 2TE is just alittle wet and you can slide it around some.
14. I sprayed some more today. All the colors did real well but one. I'm using the same mix from last time. I must have done something wrong like not mixing the paint up long enough before adding retarder. Going to remix next time to see if that helps.
15. Thanks' Tubeman, I did wipe some off with the thinner I got for the paint and the paint did stick. After I spray them how long will the paint stay on. I want to do some this fall and winter and have them ready for this spring. If I paint them this month will the paint be there this coming up spring?
16. I'm painting some soft plastics that I bought from the tackle store (frogs /Lizards). I'm using the paint from TU, Tech Paint, for soft plastics. I'm mixing retarder with the paint to spray. But, some of the colors stick and some rub off. Can you mix to much or to little retarder in the paint to cause this? And what is the correct ratio for mixing retarder and paint? It looks good when it sticks. What about temp., spraying when it's cool or do I need to be in a nice warm place.
17. I'm wanting to try DN also. How long does it really take to dry? and are you better off to dip your lure or brush on DN?
18. Thanks for the help Mike, I'll be giving it a try real soon.
19. Mike, Just looked at your gallery, That's fine work. ? for you, how do you do the crack pattern?
20. I tape close to the body during the painting. Then re-tape before clear coating. When I re-tape I put the tape about 1/16" from the new paint, that way the clear coat seals off the new paint job and gives a pro. look also.
21. I use the little 1" foam brush you get from wal-mart. It soaks up alittle e-pox but it lays down a smooth finish. D2T- 2 lures is all you have time for. Mix in the bottom of a coke can then throw the can and foam brush away. You can also clean around the hook hangers real good also.
