  1. As they say; a picture says more than a thousand words: Today on one of my testbaits I suddenly noticed this: It's like a blister....I'm not sure how long between molding and topcoating etc on this one but I guess it must have been a couple of days.. So my guess is that this is actually gas... what do you guys think? Maybe I could drill s small hole in the belly as a 'vent' on next one....

  5. Thnx guys, I'll try to be even more patient and leave the blanks alone for at least a week. Grtz
  6. How would that work..the velcro with the exacto? Sound promising.....
  7. Snax, Thnx for the reply. No I'm not sure, just a guess. I remember someone here (I think it was MuskyDan...) talking about degassing time of a couple days... I don't use demolding spray, and as my baits are all foiled that shouldn't be it....hmmm maybe it is the etex. thnx
  8. Hi guys, In your experience, how long should a blank be left alone before further work after pouring. I have noticed some tiny holes in the topcoat on a blank that had degassed for about 1 week. Thnx Jeep

    Trout

    just..wow!
  10. why not use silicone for the mold? This stuff doesn't stick to anything except silicone, so as long your fish doesn't have (leaking..) breast implants it should work right...?

    Fresh Arowana new color

Thnx! And Rofish; I guess I was just curious how this kind of segmenting would work... learning a bit with every lure. And I think that indeed smaller segmenting towards the tail gives a somewhat more 'stronger' swimming action... but this one swims very relaxed like this. I would like to also try to put a bill on this bait and weigh it as a wakebait.....just so much stuff to try out.,, grtz Jeep

    Fresh Arowana new color

These I sprayed using a new 'flip-flop' multicolor. It is a great effect wich changes the color from yellow through purple to redgold depending of the angle of the light. Grtz Jeep

    Fresh Arowana's

Some new fresh arowana swimbait! Best wishes for 2009! I managed to keep these somewhat 'clearer' wich adds to the 3d scales. It is all ice over here so I guess they will just have to wait.... Grtz Jeep

  19. And thank you all for the great tips and inspiration you gave me the last year. Without TU my addiction to lurebuilding would have never gotten this severe! Grtz Jeep
  20. Hi guys, As i mentioned in some other thread.... I have found out that etex will not cure at very low temperatures.. My 'shop' is actually in a cabin in my garden, and as I live in Holland it is bitter cold up here now. So I am thinking of a way to get my lure-rotator out of the kitchen..lol. I do have a small heater in my cabin but just don't want it to be heating for 12 hours or more overnight.. So maybe I was thinking it would be cool to build some sort of insulated 'cure box' in my cabin in wich to cure the lures. What it basically could be is a wooden box, insulated with something, a lamp, my drying wheel and a small heater with a thermostat. This way I figure the heater doesn't have to be on all te time and I can do this in the cabin! This will make my wife a lot happier...lol.... But, as I read here, etex gives off fumes that are alcohol.. and that might not be very wise to do together with an electrical heater? Any ideas? Grtz Jeep
  21. his week I 'discovered' that Etex will not harden AT ALL in temperatures around freezing... I have my little shop in a cabin in my garden and don't want to let the heater on for 12 hours, but discovered that 24 hours of turning later, the etex was still drippingwet. You never stop learning..lol8O
  22. HOT GLUE! You are a genius snax.. I use epoxy glue, and in my opinion loose fibers and sticky epoxy-glue-fingers is the stuff that nightmares are made of... Grtz Jeep
