  1. That motor is a Bodine Electric gearmotor. 1/29th HP. Did not have any rpm info. The speed control has no info on it. It is just a rotary dial similar to a ceiling fan controller. Zbass
  2. The motor that came with a pot I bought has a speed control on it. I am not sure of the mfg, but I will look when I get home. I don,t have any spec sheets for it but the name plate should have some info on it. I am in the process of making a stirrer with high temp silicon paddles. Tonite I will be finishing the shaft and motor stand and will take some pics when it gets done. Zbass
  3. What kind of alt are you using? There were some threads about putting it in a blender or flake salt. Just curious. Zbass
  4. Dubs Chops, Resin is what I make 90% of my molds out of. They make a great one sided mold. The only things you need to look out for is the srhinkage and the warping. The shrinkage is on of the reasons it is not to good for two sided molds. The warping happens when the mold is too thin and gets hot. I always try to make them about 5/8 to 3/4" thick. Also, if you plan on pouring a couple hundred baits at a time, allow for cooling tme for the mold as the resin smell will come out when they get hot. Hope that helps. Zbass
  5. PADGE, When the people here refer to a one pc mold, it has a flat open side. The baits that come out of it will generally be flat on one side. The references to two pc molds are a "full round" style and come apart to be able to remove the baits. When you pour a 2pc mold you have to pour one side at a time. Do a search as this has a ton of info here about this. Good luck with your new found "hobby/sickness". Post some pics when you get er figured out. Zbass Kajan does have a bad #$@ set up.
  6. Jeremy, What kind of craw are you looking for? Size, type of claw, etc. I might be able to make you one. Zbass
  7. prochallenger, I haven't done white but i think you would be okay if you keep the temp as low as possible. Also, one thing that I found turned my white a different color was the type of scent I was using. My temp was okay but still got the odd color. Tried a different scent and no problems after that. Hope this helps. Zbass
  8. I am actually going to make a two paddle stirrer from some spatulas so I never have to worry about scratching my pot. Will post a pic when I get it done. Zbass
  9. just give it a stir with a high temp silicon spatula when needed. It won't scratch the nonstick surface in your pot. Zbass
  10. drof99,

  13. Jim, Would be real interested in the garlic recipe if you find it. I am currently trying some different things and am always looking for new ideas. Zbass
  14. I may stand corrected on my thinking. That is what I love about this place, so many veiw points. Zbass
  15. I use scent with packaging along with salt. It seems that if you can do two things at once, (lube and scent), do it. I have never bought worm oil and don't think I ever will. Zbass
  16. I have made many resin molds and have yet to try a 2 sided one. It seems to me that it is a crap shoot as far as the amount of shrinkage during the cure time of the resin. There are other materials that don't require a science degree to make. I don't mean any disrespect Vodkaman because when it comes to the how and why questions on experiments, you da bomb! Zbass
  17. Looks a whole lot like a Wooly Hawgtail from YUM. Was the mold you spoke of a 2 piece mold or an injection mold? Zbass
  18. MT, That is definately a Bondo fiberglass resin mold. Looks exactly like 98% of the molds in my shop. How much are they selling them for? Zbass
  19. I do it mainly for packaging. I believe that it helps the baits lay better in the bag. Also, mixed with the scent I put in the bag I think it absorbs in a little. I have yet to catch that talking fish and ask what she or he thinks. The salt will come off in the water so it i mainly for bagging. Hope that helps. Zbass
  20. After they have layed out for 24 hrs to fully cure, I just put them on a paper towel and sprikle salt from a shaker on them. Then I roll them around a bit to get a coating. Not real heavy f a coat but just a covering. All the questions are fine. That's how we learn. You may try the search function also. Post a pic when you get some good ones. Zbass
  21. drof99, Lets try to answer one at a time. 1. put some oil in a bag and move them around. I find that using a combo of rolling in salt and adding scent works for me. 2. See #1 3. you will still get a plastic smell when you add scent. As long as it does not smell scorched. If it smells scorched, try heating a little less time. Another way to tell if it is scorched is a yellow tint to the plastic. 4. how much scent are you adding? I just give mine a squirt and can smell it while it is heating. It doesn't take a lot as the scents are concentrated. 5. I don't wear any gloves while handling. I just make sure that my hands are clean. If you add scent in the bag, I think that will counter any oils from your hands. Hope that helps. Zbass
  22. Yeh, I think I hosed it up the first time but I get what you are saying. Thanks for your help. Zbass
  23. Yes, the light does go on and off but I beleive that it is doing as the temp is reached and then needs to reheat. Or shoukd it be on all the time? I thought that it should shut off when the temp is reached. Zbass
  24. No. I plug direct into a 20a dedicated circuit. I don't think it is a voltage drop problem. I wait to put in my salt, scent, color and glitter right before I pour. I think one other reason mine might take a little longer is it has a solid steel stirrer as opposed to aluminum. It will take a little for that to heat up also. I did 2 cups and seemed to work okay.
